Dean had been maddeningly elusive about the whole ordeal, responding with everything from ‘a pony’ to ‘burritos and strippers’ when asked, before finally admitting he simply didn’t feel that the event of his birth was one worth celebrating — a stance Castiel staunchly opposed.

Castiel is not unfamiliar with bad dates, though not for the reasons one might think. He’s had his fair share of them, sure — who hasn’t — but what’s worse than being the poor sucker on a bad date is being the sucker forced to serve mediocre food and watered down drinks to the couple on said bad date. The secondhand embarrassment is sometimes nearly enough to choke him.
