... I really hope this isn't too terribly confusing, but I wanted to keep Will Never Be the Same at a T rating so it's still accessible to those who can't have/don't want explicit sex in their fics, but I also wanted to keep those details for those who want them.
If you're here having never read WNBTS and you want context, the fic is about 22k right now (which tbh is about the length of two chapters from some of my favourite fics), so it's not a particularly long read.
However, if you don't care much about context and just want to dive into smut, I'll give you a TL/DR: It's 1984. Nick is a closeted bisexual coal miner from Wales. Charlie is gay and a left-wing activist from London. They meet while Charlie tries to raise funds for striking miners. They are currently in Italy as part of a traveling team of rugby players and in Charlie's hotel room.

This fic is set in an Omegaverse society that has reached a point of tentative tolerance. The needs of alphas and omegas are accommodated in a range of ways including the use of modern medicine, protection of rights through basic legislation, and support from non-profit organisations. However, acceptance and inclusion are not a given, and intolerant attitudes are still encountered.
There are some Omegaverse basics in the notes at the end which should help with any unfamiliar terms.
