Summary
Grace thought it was a fight. That Casey had finally had enough of Court's dominance and wanted to tip the scales. There was a sharp bark from the smaller hybrid as the taller nipped his ear, the loudest noise Grace had ever heard from him, and then Court was chasing Casey, but there wasn't exactly anywhere to go in Grace's tiny cabin. Court tackled Casey to the ground, the growl that escaped him the most vicious sounding yet, and Casey met it with a high whine and Grace's mind raced, thinking he really should intervene, right? Or let them sort it out, but what if it got bad? He couldn't see blood, so maybe they were just playing, even if it sounded scary. But maybe he should try to pry Court off the smaller hybrid by his harness or give him a command or something-
"Oh."
Court had Casey pinned to the ground, right hand on the back of his neck, left hand on his hip, and was desperately rutting his hard, leaking cock against his ass.

He’s not much of a talker, Grace has quickly discerned, the words he does share are spoken gruffly but quietly, even the gratuitous swearing. More habit than actually irate. Still, Grace is just wondering how to fill the silence without just rambling when Simon cautiously ventures, “Say I’m not dead. Say it is real… why rescue me? Why fix me up?”
He tilts his head, nonplussed, “Because you were stranded and you were hurt.”
“That’s not what I’m asking,” spoken through gritted teeth. “At least, at least be honest with me. For what reason? What do you want in return?”
In his lap, Grace’s fingers flex.
“I don’t want anything in return,” he says steadily.

Ryland looked down at his clipboard, where he had written a reasonable script, supplied earlier that day by Adrian. Unfortunately, the moment his eyes landed on the words, his brain supplied only terrible ways to say them.
He chose the worst one.
“I need flowers with prominent reproductive structures.”
The man went completely still.
Ryland could feel his soul attempting to leave his body.
“For a plant anatomy lab,” he added quickly. “For my students. Middle school students. Not–” He cut himself off, because there was simply no end to that sentence that would improve his situation. Instead, he just weakly smiled, and added “Science.”

When Grace feels the first unmistakable gush of slick soaking down the inner seam of the orange jumpsuit tied around his waist, he shuts his eyes against the trembling reflection staring back at him in the Hail Mary’s compact lavatory and grips the steel rim of the tiny sink until his long fingers blanch white. He tries desperately to ignore the way his swollen scent glands glisten with dribbling oil along either side of his bare, unclaimed neck – and how the featherlight, viscous slide does nothing to soothe the roiling heat coiling low in his belly. Instead, it stokes the relentless ache beneath his skin until Grace convulses against the cold steel, teeth gritted through the onslaught heralding the end of their journey to Adrian.
Rocky and Simon stand just outside the lavatory door, the branding weight of twin, alien gazes somehow both a balm and a warning, even through the thick layers of Nomex. They have no idea what’s just happened. What’s just begun. No idea their Adrian mission is about to become so much worse.
Why, Grace thinks, pressing his heated forehead against the mirror until sweat smears across the glass. Why did I have to be born an Omega?
