“Have you never been on the ice before?” Merlin manages in between giggles. His pale face is bright with mirth and Arthur finds himself studying it, trying to understand what exactly about this gangly man has such a magnetic effect on him that he signed up for private ice skating lessons after only meeting him once.
“No,” Arthur says, and he dusts off his gloves before resuming his death grip on the side of the rink.
This response, for some absurd reason, sets Merlin off laughing again.
When he’s managed to get control of himself once more, Merlin asks, “why on earth did you demand private lessons with me then?”
