    Summary

Clark comes back a little bit wrong—or maybe more than a little bit. He poses a danger to anybody close to him, in more than one way. There's only one person he can think of who's learned enough about Kryptonian biology to help him and isn't currently in prison; and Wayne owes him, anyway. At least he won't have to feel guilty about lashing out anymore, if he's doing it at the guy who tried to kill him.

Except "lashing out" doesn't really cover it, after a while—and maybe Wayne's in over his head just as far as Clark is.

    Summary

It requires every ounce of will he can bring to bear to force himself to meet Clark's eyes. Clark looks shocked; the expression is undiluted by anger or dismay, though perhaps he simply hasn't had time to grasp what just happened. His eyes are wide, round, impossibly blue. Color is rising into his cheeks. His mouth is half-open, slack, with the slightest damp shine where—

"That was," Bruce makes himself say, and then stops. Christ, what word can he use? What adjective is there that acknowledges his trespass fully? "Inappropriate." Inadequate, but it's the best he can do, and Clark needs to hear something, needs to know Bruce recognizes his own mistake for what it is. "I apologize. I—"

Of course, a refusal to apologise and a handjob on the floor of a fitting room does not reparations make.

Eggsy left the shop that night with a new chip on the shoulder of his new suit. Harry left the shop that night with the knowledge of what Eggsy looked like flushed and trembling with pleasure under his hands and the certainty that this single torturous taste of what he wanted most was worth living with the possibility that he would not get another.

    Bookmarker's Notes

"He woke up Friday morning with a full body cramp from folding his legs in order to fit on the sofa, an awful taste in his mouth, and just in time to walk a dog who no longer lived there."

Spoilers: the one where Harry isn't coping nearly as well as he thinks he is, Eggsy spies on him by listening to his therapy sessions, they break up, and Eggsy moves out. Also the one where Harry eventually decides he'd rather have Eggsy with his flaws and shameless ignorance for boundaries than not at all!

“But Bruce isn’t gay?” Clark points out, and there’s an awkward moment of everyone clearing their throats and avoiding Clark’s eyes until he turns to stare at Bruce. “Are you?”

Bruce blinks for a moment before offering a sheepish smile. “I’m not… not?” he offers, and Clark feels his brain just about short-circuit at the news.

Or, five times Clark finds himself falling for Bruce, and the one time he does something about it

    Summary

The staff meeting after Cat had broken her foot had involved a lot of reassigning, since she couldn’t exactly do the usual society beat with her foot in a boot. So much that Clark hadn’t really thought twice when Perry had said “and Kent, you’ll take the new Wayne foundation piece,” because sure, he liked working the philanthropy stories occasionally. It wasn’t until they’d gotten back to their desks that Lois had burst into a fit of snickering and said “oh, I would pay money to see how you’re going to handle Bruce Wayne for two weeks,” and Clark had realized how majorly screwed he was.

    -
On a two-week assignment, Clark does his best to figure out Bruce Wayne. Bruce does his best to make sure he can't. Unfortunately, they're just too good at working together, even when they don't know it.

For Superbat Week 2024, day 1: identity shenanigans.
