Ilya is so wrapped up in thoughts that he hasn’t noticed Hayden stopped talking to him to look behind him down the hall.
“Shane, man,” Hayden says “Get your beauty sleep in, huh?”
“You could say that,” a voice that sends a chill down Ilya’s spin says. Not because it’s unpleasant, quite the opposite. But because it sounds oddly familiar.
Ilya turns and is frozen in place. Mentally rubbing his eyes like a cartoon character.
A guy looking conspicuously like the one Ilya fucked last night is walking out of a bedroom and into the kitchen.
Ilya braces himself for the inevitable. Awkward small talk and pleasantries. Followed by fucking heart eyes.
"Hey,” Shane nods at Ilya and extends a hand, “Shane, you must be Ilya. Nice to meet you.”
The fuck!?
Why is Shane behaving like they didn’t spend a beautiful, extremely mutually gratifying night together?
OR
If only Ilya can get a peek under Shane's shirt he'll get to the bottom of why his new roomie is pretending they don't know each other. ITS EXTREMELY RATIONAL! Don't question it!
