Nepenthe • \nuh-PENTH-ee\ • noun: something capable of causing oblivion of grief or suffering.
Childe knew when he first plunged into the Abyss that he had changed, that the blood beneath his skin burned, and that his mind was not his alone. And to that, as his heart he gave to the Tsaritsa, in years passed of no complaint, he found a part of himself wanting more then the bloodshed his being desired.
But what was found did not last, and what was his was untrue.
A prayer uttered, and a wish that would come to fruition, whether he asked for it or not. Yet as Childe himself found himself to change, a new name to be made to an already list of three, there seemed to be an unexpected constant in his life, one wanted, and broken, yet still there in the end.
New, old, different, same, those amber eyes still saw into his soul.
A story of two beings that never should have met, of the memories unsaid, as they grabbled with one poignant question:
What does it mean to be human?

Childe knew when he first plunged into the Abyss that he had changed, that the rules of the world was more vast then he realised.He understood that fundamentally, just as the rust on that dagger had stained the metal, that Childe was different.
But he adapted. He. Was. Still human.
When a betrayal rocks him from someone he had never expected, Childe finds himself in a place that he had thought he had long since put behind. The ever growing feeling and casm within grew.
But he adapted. He. Was.....Human. He is. He had to be.
That was what Childe was good at. Change. Survival. That insatiable desire within him to consume everything around him.
Yet in an evershifting world foreign to him, there seems to be an unexpected constant in his life. New, old, different, same, those amber eyes still saw into his soul.

Summary
