King Viserys fell into a great sadness, sending ripples of doubt and the threat of political instability across the Seven Kingdoms. The Hightowers in court ruled while the King mourned.
15 years have passed, with nothing but silence from the Princess and tales of her unseemly endeavors across the Narrow Sea. Until the King’s nameday. Viserys made the desperate decision to send Queen Alicent to Essos, with Daemon as escort, to persuade his named heir to return home. Hopefully, for good.
Their greatest obstacle would not be the Triarchy sailing the seas, nor the Dothraki hoard raiding the lands, but Rhaenyra herself and her hardened heart.

No, no Rhaenyra was not next in line. Despite sanity and all decency saying that she should be. Baelon flaunted his duties to the realm, and the King was too blinded by guilt to change his decision.
Once she had thought herself sure that Baelon would be a good Queen, kind and just, but time had cured her of those delusions. As she looked down at the face of her son, she knew what she would have to do.
Alicent knew she could not trust Baelon to spare Rhaenyra, and by extension, she could not trust him to spare Alicent's children by Rhaenyra.
