Summary
When the time comes for the DMLE's routine inspection, they send Curse-Breaker Hermione Granger to the ancestral homes of Draco Malfoy and Theodore Nott. She's determined to uncover every Dark artefact and secret she can find, even though records from years past have long cleared the manors of any such traces.
Hermione knows of Malfoy and Nott's cleverness. Based on their reactions to her presence, she's convinced they're hiding something. Will that something satisfy her suspicions, or will she find a different sort of satisfaction entirely?

If it wasn't for his work with the Longbottoms, Antonin would have preferred to spend his Christmas alone. At least there, he doesn't have to endure the unwanted company of those who would rather see him behind bars or, better yet, dead. Here, where lights twinkle and champagne pours free, he is as out of place as a bear at a ballet.
Likewise, Hermione isn't one for lavish parties or small talk, but she is a good friend with the determination to make an appearance, even if only for a short while. The last person she expects to run into is the man who once nearly killed her and continues to irritate her every sensibility.
