Imagine entering Darkwick Academy the same year as the current third year ghouls, became their investigator at the time out of pure chance, forming a deep bond that was considered irreplaceable , giving them continues support, basically becoming their anchor and safe haven only to abruptly isolate yourself after The Clash.
You even quitted the role as investigator and stopped joining missions completely without a word.
In short, you gave them the ghost treatment after a misunderstanding and now the third year ghouls are having PTSD when you started rejoining missions with the newly appointed investigator that's cursed to die in a years time.
