That's it, until her dreams start taking her further and further into the past, and it seems clear that they are far more than a mere illusion fueled by pain.
As Columbina desperately clings to the cycle in the hopes to bring Sandrone back to her side, it becomes increasingly clear that something is wrong with the powers the dark side of the Lunar Authority holds, the way it bends to her grief. A respiração de Sandrone saía em rajadas curtas e irregulares, rasgando o ar frio da floresta enquanto ela corria sem direção clara. A luz do luar mal atravessava a copa densa das árvores, transformando tudo ao redor em sombras distorcidas que pareciam se mover no canto de sua visão.
Os galhos secos chicoteavam seu rosto e seus braços. Ela mal sentia.
Atrás dela — passos.
Pesados. Rápidos. Constantes.
Perto demais.
— Merda… — a palavra escapou entre os dentes quando seu pé prendeu numa raiz escondida sob a neve fina.
Ela quase caiu.
Quase.A ardência no tornozelo veio imediata, latejante, mas Sandrone a enterrou sob a onda violenta de adrenalina que inundava seu corpo. Não podia parar. Não podia sequer diminuir.
