Grace pressed his lips together and hummed curiously. “That’s a tank of blood?”
“Yes. We need your help studying what’s inside.”
“You mean the blood?” He frowned. “Are you sure you don’t have anyone better for this? Like, aren’t there doctors who spend their entire lives analyzing blood? Surely they’d be—”
He was cut off as a loud thud made him jump. For a brief second, an inhuman hand pressed against the glass. It had five long, thin fingers, with thin membranes stretching between each to make it webbed.
Grace gulped.
Something was in there.

Simon and Grace get off to a rough start, between Simon threatening him with a syringe, Grace repeatedly forgetting his name, and Simon’s general distrust of authority figures. It’s Rocky that ends up winning his trust first.
But Grace is far from the untouchable, privileged hero he first appeared as. Bit by bit, Simon starts to notice the marks that Project Hail Mary left behind on Grace and exactly what the mission cost him.
Featuring Rocky and Simon being friends first, Grace’s piss poor communication skills, shower-induced PTSD flashbacks, recurrent bouts of amnesia, and the power of friendship.

Erid is wonderful, everything Grace could ever ask for after being jettisoned off into space to die a slow, lonely death. He has his best friends, Rocky and Adrian, and an incredible array of Eridian friends, colleagues, and students to learn from. And after many happy years, he has no intention of another journey back to Earth. Really, this is wonderful... were it not for the lack of human contact. Borderline desperate to have some kind of human conversation again, even a dreamt up one, Grace takes to lucid dreaming to try and manifest someone to at least make boring small talk with.
Grace gets his wish when an unique stranger appears one night. But things begin to get a little... odd. And Grace has a hard time deciphering what is real and what is just in his head.
