Lan Wangji knows his best friend also loves physical intimacy and sex. These things have not been secrets for several years now. The problem with the direction in which Wei Ying’s explanation is heading, is that Lan Wangji is irrevocably in love with him, and has been for about 14 years. The problem is that Lan Wangji is in love with him, and Wei Wuxian, who’s never actually had a partner despite all of his dating, is about to tell Lan Wangji that Li Bowen, rich and illustrious philanthropist Li Bowen, has asked to formally court him.

Summary
You’d think a year was long enough. Long enough to learn to breathe on your own, learn that places don't haunt you, people do, but there aren’t going to be ghosts lurking in every alley or storm drain. It’s certainly long enough for a smell to fade, a number to be forgotten, or a family to stop asking. But things like mattresses and couches don’t forget the bodies that used to rely on them, and tables and desks don’t forget marks and scratches. Broken plates don’t fuse back together, hardwood floors don’t magically undent. Hearts don’t miraculously unbreak.
