    This is a small snapshot of the seven years Odysseus spent under Zeus' hand in the home of the gods. He yearns for home, for Penelope and Telemachus, but there are worse alternatives.

    An excerpt from my story Requiem: The Siren and the Shark

    Does contain spoilers for much later in the story

    Poseidon changed Odysseus for revenge. He didn't intend to change himself. Now, Odysseus is dealing with the effects of that change and Poseidon cannot stand to see him suffer under his blessing any longer. He will take his greatest weapon from him, but such gifts from the gods cannot be given without something in return. All Poseidon asks is for Odysseus' surrender.

    The sea king had never thought he would want this type of surrender from Odysseus, but it is the only thing he can ask for in exchange.
