"Holy shit, Rozanov," Shane moaned.
He dropped his forehead onto his folded arms. His brow furrowed deeply as his mouth dropped open in ecstasy. The pleasure-pain threatened to overwhelm his senses completely.
"It's good?" Rozanov asked from somewhere above him.
"So fucking good," Shane slurred. "What are you doing to me?"
A dark chuckle was all the reply that he got as the pressure at the base of his spine continued to build.

Or: Shane and Ilya never hook up at the CCM shoot or anytime after that. Instead, Ilya gets traded to Montreal during the 2013-2014 season. Shane discovers that Rozanov is a man of many talents after he accidentally becomes Shane's massage therapist.

Shane scratched the back of his neck. “Rose, uh… she figured it out. Us. Our history. All of it.”
Ilya turned his head slowly, disbelieving. “Figured it out?”
“To be fair, you and I weren’t exactly subtle in Montreal,” Shane said, sheepishly.
Ilya huffed, scowling.
“So, she knows.” He swallowed. “Everything?”
“I mean, not all the gory details,” Shane said, shrugging. “But enough.”
There was a pause long enough for the surf to swell and retreat twice.
“And? What?” Ilya asked finally, jaw tight. “She is… disgusted?”
Shane actually snorted. “Uh. No.”
“No?”
“No,” Shane said again, dragging a hand down his face. Then, half-laughing, “She, um. She thinks it’s fucking hot.”

Or, in essence, what if Rose clocks Shane and Ilya in Montreal, she's like, I want two boyfriends and I want the boyfriends to be boyfriends, too. God gave me two hands for a reason.

Summary
“I think. Maybe we try a threesome,” Rose said. Watched as Shane’s face underwent so many expressions at once she worried for a half second he might be having a stroke.
When his face had calmed down, chosen one expression - something bland and rigid - Shane spoke. “Um,” he said. “I. I’m not sure sure if. If that’s what you want, yes, we can, of course. I just don’t think that will. Having another. Woman. There. Would help my. Performance?”
She nodded, squeezed his hand. “I wasn’t thinking of another woman,” she said, interested to see if this would be more or less panic inducing for Shane. “I was thinking a guy. I know Miles would be interested.”
Rose begins her break up/you are gay talk with Shane, and Shane derails it in a last ditch attempt at proving to himself that he can be what he thinks he should be. They agree to give their relationship another go, and are ridiculous about it.
