“Oh?” Chan asks, humor laced through his tone. Felix has only known him for a few hours, but he can hear it, the laugh he's fighting, the dimple in his cheek. “Would Hyunjinnie want to join us, then?”
Felix inhales sharply as his pulse jumps. Hyunjin’s head whirls around, eyes wide as he meets Chan's gaze. Felix can hear his own heartbeat in his ears.
“Wh– what?” Hyunjin whispers, finally letting himself look at Felix. He can't interpret what he sees in his best friend's eyes, but he hopes his own sudden anticipation isn't too apparent. “Felix?”
He releases a measured breath, praying it doesn't seem too jittery as he shrugs haphazardly. “Sure. I mean, why not? We never- uh, we've never done that, but. We're best friends, right? What. What could go wrong?”

Felix brings Chan home from the bar to get laid but accidentally ends up in his best friend and roommate Hyunjin's room—who he's in love with, by the way. What could possibly go wrong?

Unfortunately for everyone involved, “mostly” leaves room for questions.

Hyunjin and Felix knew taking six-year-old Minnie to the dentist would require patience. They did not anticipate Felix becoming an official research secretary, Hyunjin begging everyone to stop giving Seungmin follow-up information, or an innocent dental appointment creating several new subjects that absolutely must be researched later.
Because if nobody knows the answer?

“Do you need to me to handle anything?” Changbin asks in an undertone when Felix moves away. Hyunjin’s fiddling with his phone, editing a picture of him facing away from the camera, hand raised up to block the snow flurries. It takes a minute for his words to permeate but eventually Hyunjin glances through his damp bangs with a questioning look. “For our trip,” Changbin elaborates. “I can take something off your plate.”
Hyunjin hums. He tucks the phone away and nudges closer to Changbin. “No,” he says meditatively, lips brushing up against his ear. “You don’t need to know anything at all. Just listen to your hyung.”

“I think… I want you to scare me,” Wumuti finally says, fidgeting and looking away.
Haru is silent for a moment, probably wondering if Wumuti misspoke.
“What do you mean?” She asks, moving one hand up to play with Wumuti’s hair.
The touch is calming, helping them to continue.
“I mean, like… You know I have anxiety, and how it gets really intense sometimes, right?”
Haru nods in reply, kissing them on the cheek; a silent sign for them to keep going. Wumuti swallows hard, wringing their hands.
“I think… I think I’ve figured out that if I get scared on purpose, it makes the anxiety calm down a little bit.” Their eyes are fixed on the wrinkles in Haru’s shirt. The silence of the room feels like it’s pressing in on Wumuti’s head, making it hard to think.

Haru hears the key in the door a while later, and he finally pulls his gaze away from Hyun and Rui to look at Wumuti as she enters. It's always hard not to be drawn to her, even when she's dressed comfortably like today. His mouth waters at the sight of her hair tied up in a loose bun, a large, fading hickey on her neck exposed for everyone to see.
He's about to happily welcome her home until she looks over to them. The smile on her face drops when she sees Rui and Hyun still locked together on the couch, and she presses her lips together in a thin line. She toes off her shoes quietly, and walks straight past the living room and down the hall to her room.
OR
It's easy for Rui to fall into place between Hyun and Haru. Haru takes it on himself to show Wumuti that she's allowed to want them too.
