Hey!!! Bonnie huffs, finally looking up as they scoop the finished samosas out and into Frin’s bowl to pat dry. “I’m not a kid,” they say, putting special care to say their age clearly. Almost ten is almost not kid-aged! “I’m ten.”

Hopefully once the Hero arrives you will finally be set free... One way or another. (The Universe would never let you go that easily)
Mirabelle and her team of mismatched saviours finally make it through the House. After a long journey it all comes down to this, she will enter the room and defeat the King. She will free all of Vaugarde from his hold. She does not yet know that there is another behind this door and she stands no chance against them. Luckily, she has been granted the ability to try again and again... and again.
Or: I played TDQM and then the brain worms were worming.
TLDR: Everyone loops. (not technically but that will be explained) Siffrin, the unwilling villain, knows how to play their role. No need to know TDQM but do go and play that it was good.
PLEASE READ THE NOTES FOR THE TWS (Chapter count will stay at 1/? as I might add post cannon to this later but its a complete story on its own)

A couple slips of the tongue is all it takes for the entirety of Vaugarde to become convinced that Mirabelle and Isabeau have gone through an epic romance - the greatest of the ages - that most can only dream of. Now, it's up to Mirabelle and Siffrin to keep up the illusion to the rest of the world, and make sure their party can never ever find out about this.
(aka, mirabelle panics, siffrin has a crisis, isabeau's only half-clueless, and no matter what the tabloids say, the fake dating stays fake dating)

“What’s even up there? All the interesting stuff is down here.”
“There are stars!” And Isa sounds so, so excited to answer with that.
“So?”
This conversation tastes sugar-smoke familiar, but you can’t criticize it. The ache-urge in your chest colored that visceral shade you remember from the copper-caramel taste in your mouth always tries to get you to feel anger, rage, a surefire determination to fix what has gone forgotten, but that’s the shade that drove the King mad, and you don’t want to be some kind of ghost of him—it would be too easy. He reflects you, in your worst moments, but you aren’t allowed to carry glass anymore, so you aren’t allowed to carry him, either.
(Weeks after the end of everything, the party finds an abandoned observatory.)
