    “I’m calling in a favor.”
Suguru frowns, tilting his head to hold the phone against his shoulder while he unloads groceries. “I don’t owe you any favors right now.”
“Yeah, but I’ll owe you one,” Shoko says. “I need you to fill in for me at a…temporary gig.”
“What kind of gig?” Suguru says warily.
    “Marriage counseling,” Shoko replies.
    Suguru drops the phone.

“I’m a kid. You can’t leave me alone. That’s unsafe.” Megumi counters, pulling the phone away from his ear. His argument might have done more to sway Suguru if his voice wasn’t so deadpan.

“I’ll leave you with the guards. They’ll look after you until your dad gets there.”

    “I can’t talk to strangers.”

    “What am I, then?”

“That was an emergency. Also, you’re not a stranger anymore.” Megumi blinks. “You’re Suguru.”

Suguru fights the urge to slam his head against the pole in the middle of the train carriage. Instead, he says: “Can I talk to your dad?”

Megumi loses his dad on the train, and finds a certain tall, raven-haired man instead.

    Summary

Whoever’s playing, it sounds like someone right above Satoru’s apartment, judging from the clarity and depth of the sound. Someone who plays often, because no one else seems surprised. No one yells for them to shut up. There’s a pause, a short breath in, before they start with a basic set of scales-
    And Satoru freezes-
Because as Yaga used to say, one can tell a lot about a musician’s ability simply through a run-through of their scales.
And whoever the hell this is, their scales are the cleanest and most beautiful Satoru’s heard in a very, very long time.

One and only child prodigy violinist Gojou Satoru has moved into a new apartment with bad ventilation and thin walls. And whoever the pianist is living above him—music ringing loud and clear—has no business being this damn good.

Seriously, who the hell are they?

(Hint: It's someone he knows. Someone he thought he'd gotten over, someone he thought he'd never see again. It's Getou Suguru.)

When they stepped into the hallway, it didn’t take long for Suguru to sense something Haibara had just debunked. He paused and tilted his head, to see if he was just sensing a lingering scent from downstairs.

“I thought you said no co-ed?” Suguru asked, continuing down the hall toward his room number. “I can smell an omega.”

    _____

Suguru's new roommate is a prime alpha, just like him. Except Satoru's a special kind of prime alpha--just not in the way either of them think.
