Japan discovers the world of yaoi, and it drives him bonkers. So bonkers, in fact, he’s writing stories and daydreaming about situations involving him and the people around him. Insanely bonkers, in fact, he’s willing to do anything to make those scenarios happen in real life.
However, this discovery does more than impact him mentally. It impacts him physically too, leading his friends to worry, and attempt to figure out what’s going on with him.
This, Japan realizes, has consequences he wasn’t aware of.

Summary
When Ranpo looks at himself in the mirror, he always sees a brilliant detective grinning back at him. An infallible detective. A detective towering over the world, unmatched by all.
But when Ranpo finds himself making a gargantuan mistake whilst undercover - when he finds himself far more excited by the concept than shameful - he realizes, maybe, he doesn't have to be as alone at the top of the world as he's certain he's destined to be.
Or: Ranpo Edogawa, star reporter of the ADA, is sent off to spy on The Guild, a rival newspaper. It should've been simple, considering he'd assumed an average IQ of twenty amongst his new coworkers. And how thrilling it was that he'd been wrong.

A Book Club is to start at The Yokohama City Central Library, with it's first meeting held on Saturday the 5th of August. Instead of a local, it will be held by Guild Special Operative Edgar Allan Poe. Both one Kyoka Izumi and Mori Ougai will be in attendance, as will the former sea-creature now know and Howard Phillips Lovecraft.
Will the Book Club succeed, or will it be a bust - and a blow to the already fragile pride of Edgar Allan Poe?
