Summary
In Unstable City, there's a lot of things that exist. Hybrids of all kinds, from dogs, to demons, to blazes. It's not unique, that's for sure, as the cities surrounding it, like Lifesteal City or Strength City, have their own quirks, and their own different hybrids of creatures and humans.
One thing Unstable City has that other cities do not, however, is an angel. Angels were hunted and killed down until near extinction for their abilities, which were said that one could receive if they ate an angel's heart.
It had been centuries since anyone's seen an angel, so that myth was yet to be proven.
Eggchan is an angel.
He works at a coffee shop. He does all the shifts, every last one, since the other employees all either ran off to be heroes, or died in the crossfire of the battles. Doesn't matter to Egg though. As long as he gets paid.
Staying safe isn't too hard.
Until heroes, vigilantes and villains alike decide that the coffee shop Egg works at is a great place to get coffee.

When the world resolves itself into discernible shapes and colors, the first thing Egg clocks is a dark-haired boy in a straw-hat silhouetted against the noon-day sun.

He had died yet again on one of his many run throughs of the mines, the Grumble nest was always a struggle to get past. The calming guitar of Guiding Light passed, as he began to prepare to wake up feeling himself fall down with the crashing elevator.
He didn’t expect to wake up back in the hotel elevator, which quickly sent him into a panic. Had he failed enough at the mines that he had to completely do the hotel over?
He stepped out of the elevator, the familiar room greeting him. Surveying the room though, it seemed as though there were two new people standing together, both staring at him.

The critters have noticed Dogday has started to act weird. He became more protective and even more clingy, but he’s changed the most to Catnap. Dogday has started to avoid him more, getting flustered around him, following him around from the distance, always tagging along whoever was going to be with Catnap. It’s obvious what this is… He’s in love! But it looks like he’s having trouble expressing that, and so the critters decided to have “Mission: Get Dogday And Catnap Together” and help the canine and the feline confess to one another!

After chasing Poppy’s angel and dying at the closed gate, Dogday was somehow transported to the Smiling Critters cartoon universe. Spending years and years being tortured by Catnap, he became wary and afraid of the feline, fearing that he’ll cause harm to him or his friends again, Dogday made sure to keep an eye on Catnap’s every move…. Unfortunately, this has caused the other critters to misunderstand the situation and is now doing his best to avoid the other critters attempts of pushing him to get closer to Catnap.
