Since setting out on her Pokemon journey, Violet has been hearing a voice in her head. It doesn't seem hostile, and she doesn't think she's imagining it, because it knows things she doesn't. When questioned, it claims, "I just want to see what's going to happen."
It draws her attention to Subway Boss Emmet, newly arrived in Paldea, and asks Violet to talk to him.

By force, if necessary.
Or, Jessie, James, and Meowth are better delinquent heroes than they ever are as villains, and end up adopting a twerp as a little brother.
Or, Ash travels with an aspiring nurse/idol/Pokemon trainer/princess, the Pokemon whisperer, and a talking Meowth (he still owes the leader of the Cerulean Gym a new bike).
