They are fighting again. That seems to be the nature of their relationship now, and Stan knows why. He doesn't say anything about it, but he knows why. It is because of what resides in his heart, because of the desperation he feels whenever he looks at Kyle. So they are fighting again about nothing and everything and the truth hangs in every "why are you so different" and "why are you like this" that Kyle throws in his face.

She walks into the ball with Zuko on her arm. They are not together, they never truly were, but both agree that while the Fire Nation is in such a period of turmoil, it will be easier to pretend they are a couple. He is in a beautiful outfit, Blue Spirit mask perched on his face. Mai doesn't ask about where he got it or remind him of that mysterious fugitive who saved the Avatar but she knows that Zuko knows she knows. He does look good, and if she was a different person with different tendencies, she knows she would be dancing—genuinely dancing, not just for the people watching—with him.

"Turns out that I didn't actually need to study all week and my roommate was driving me insane so I decided to leave." Stan nods, satisfied. This is, shockingly, not the first time Kyle has just cleaned stuff randomly. He has a habit of doing that, of just doing small actions—picking up groceries, cleaning, just little gestures to help—and he did genuinely seem to enjoy it. He would always tell Stan that it relaxed him, brought him peace, and for some bizarre reason he did seem to get fulfillment from cleaning so Stan wouldn't begrudge him that.

Summary
He hasn't bothered looking at fireworks in a long time. The Fourth stopped being a big event, the way it always was, and instead just when a bunch of shops were closed. He's not upset about it, he doesn't really care in any particular way, but it's disorienting to be watching the fireworks here with Stan. Like he's been transported back into the body of a version of him that he thought he outgrew long ago, like he's a young kid all over again.

Summary
The monster holding on to Ray Toro’s jacket sleeve sure doesn’t look much like one.
Sure, he’s a little paler than the average guy, his eyebags are a little deeper, and his (currently disastrously ruined) eyeliner makes him look a little like a deranged raccoon at times, but really, he’s pretty believably human. Gerard Way’s fangs are kept thoroughly hidden by lips stained plausibly-lipstick red, and his near-ivory skin is easy enough to mistake for gothy foundation. Maybe it’s just how long Ray’s known him, but he doesn’t look monstrous. He just looks like… well, Gee.
But today is a good day. They’re running out of good days.Mikey’s gone, and nobody’s heard from him for days. Ray is left at the Ways’ place to take care of his older brother, who just happens to be a vampire. Shenanigans ensue.
