Summary
Regulus is a young writer with a burning hunger to be great. He walks the empty halls of Grimmauld Place, the memory of a brother long gone on his heels. He's looking for anything to feed his inspiration—a muse. James is his teacher, new to the area, and stagnant in his life.
It's meant to be a game. It's not a game anymore.

Summary
“I don’t know what I believe anymore,” Regulus admits, voice barely audible. “I used to, and it was so much easier. There was one right path, one set of rules. Given to me by my mother, my church, my God. They all told me what to do, how to act, what to want.” He exhales, shaky. “Then my brother left and everything got muddled and… lonely.”
“That’s just life, love,” James says gently. “It gets quite muddled and lonely at times.”
“And how do I fix it?”
James chuckles. “If you find out, do let me know, yeah?”

Regulus Black wants to have a normal university experience, which seems impossible as the son of controversial far-right politician Walburga Black, and only gets more complicated when James Potter enters his life.

Summary
In Regulus’s defense, he doesn’t mean to turn James Potter into a vampire.
His plans are much simpler than that. He only intends to abduct the boy who has led his brother astray, have some fun torturing him for a week or two, kill him, then dump the body on Sirius’s doorstep. Maybe carve ‘from RAB, with love’ on his chest for dramatic effect.
See? A nice, straightforward plan.

Regulus Black’s immortal life is derailed by one James Potter.

Summary
There is something both thrilling and intimate about watching someone when they think no one is around, seeing how they behave in the vacuum of other people’s perception.
Regulus momentarily sheds his poise when he wrestles with the ancient lock, tote bags precariously balanced on his shoulders and neat curls just beginning to frizz and frazzle in the humidity. He mutters something James is too far away to hear, but it is most certainly a curse.
It’s oddly endearing.

James Potter offers to check on his best friend’s long-missing brother and gets a little too invested.
