Summary
“You want me to arrange my own death.” It’s pathetic, that this is how his life works. So pathetic that the only thing left to do is laugh about it, about the way that he must die and never be happy, no matter what.
Igor laces his fingers together and leans forward. He’s every talk show host Akechi has ever spoken to, every interviewer who has smiled and told him how impressive they find him. “I want you to make the right choice.”
--
Or: Ren makes the wrong choice. Akechi tries to set it right.

Summary
Sumire feels the weight of a year forgotten crash onto her shoulders.
Wasn’t their deadline February third?
And -oh no- It’s April, how had she not noticed entire months passing in Maruki’s false reality? She checks her phone, and does a double take.
April 4, 2016
2016? But- wasn’t it?
No. Oh no.
“Shoot.” She hisses under her breath.
Well, Sumire thinks somewhat hysterically, it's at least an improvement over being trapped in Maruki’s reality.
---
After Ren makes the wrong decision at the end of the world, Sumire Yoshizawa is thrown a year into the past, with the vague goal of making things right. This would, of course, be a significantly easier task if she had any idea what she’s supposed to do.

Summary
"Tomorrow is broken. Tomorrow is nowhere."
A year has passed since the Phantom Thieves struck down a god and saved Tokyo from a terrible fate. But when people all over the globe begin to suffer from "Paranoia Syndrome," mysterious seizures which leave them contorted and unconscious, Akira Kurusu finds himself in the Velvet Room once more, demanding answers for the affliction. His investigation leads him to the Dead Sea, the rotted remnants of the cognitive world, where all things go to be forgotten - including someone the Thieves had thought to be long gone.
Meanwhile, Akira's comatose body is found in the waking world, and his terrified friends suspect the worst. Akira's confidants struggle to learn the truth behind Paranoia Syndrome, while he and Goro Akechi approach a fated confrontation in the decaying shell of the cognitive Tokyo. As the sickness continues to spread, the Phantom Thieves must reunite and destroy the evil festering beneath the Dead Sea's waters, before its malignant influence unravels civilization forever.
