A companion piece to A Study in Resonance.
Grimmauld Place was not a haunted house -- but Sirius was haunted by it nevertheless. For six months, he sheltered Harry, Ron, and Hermione from the war. For four months, he battled the locket. For one month, he lived alone, with only the half-remembered ghosts of his past to keep him company. Through it all, the house watched, and it listened, and it waited.
(Or, an exploration of what it might mean to have a haunted house in a world where magic and ghosts are very much real, and one's greatest enemy is one's own mind).
Contains spoilers for A Study in Resonance, specifically the chapters that cover HP books 6 and 7.

Summary
When tasked by Voldemort with capturing Black, Snape plans on failing to deliver. His plan goes wrong, really wrong. Snape gets injured. Sirius is brave as always. The two of them are thrown together in the aftermath of everything, and we will be eating bromance with a big spoon, straight out of the pot.

Now, two years later, Harry is in his third year, his friends are having the time of their lives in Hogsmeade, there's an escaped mass murderer running around, and Harry is going stir-crazy. Fortunately, the twins have a solution! Although- they're going to need something in return, and it needs to be good.

Sirius has been through undescribable torture at the hands of the Death Eaters. In his refusal to give up vital information, the whereabouts of the Potter family, he paid the price. Now, even though the war was won and the entire Wizarding World is celebrating, James and Remus are instead keeping vigil at the bedside of their best friend. Sirius had beaten the odds and survived the war but now he is lying in a hospital bed, unresponsive with severe brain trauma. The healers have no idea if he will ever wake up or if he will ever be the same person again if he does wake up. Remus and James vow to help Sirius in this new life but they could never imagine how difficult the journey will be.
While Sirius struggles to survive his injuries, Remus struggles to manage his own illness on top of James's steadily declining mental health. James struggles to cope with unimaginable guilt and Lily struggles to keep herself, Harry, and the three Marauder’s afloat in these new, uncertain post-war times.

After all, the blast of accidental magic that exploded out of her when Bellatrix killed Aunt Petunia not only landed her twenty-six years in the past. It even managed to propel her right out of her teenage body and back into her scrawny eleven-year-old form. If only she didn’t have to rehash living in the war, this time the First Wizarding War in the time of her parents, all over again!
