None of Bella's stories had ever told of the hard work of cleaning up a battle, there was no glory in it. But it was better to throw herself into the work than face the fact that she had very nearly lost the ones she loved, face the trauma of the battle, of the dragon sickness, of all the darkness that loomed over her shoulder. After all, tears were for when you were in privacy, and there was precious little of that when one was named regent for a grievously wounded king.

Jaskier was part fae. A quarter to be precise.
There was an old superstition among humans that names held power, but for fae it was so much more than that. Names meant control. If you knew a fae’s name, their true name, they would be completely at your will. If someone knew your true name you were nothing more than their servant. A slave. All it took was a single command.
When war breaks out between neighboring kingdoms, Jaskier's father uses his true name and commands him to marry a witcher as part of a peace treaty. Neither Jaskier or Geralt are particularly happy with the arrangement. But as Jaskier gets to know him better he realizes that the witcher might just be able to give him the thing he's always craved. Freedom.

Summary
When the Rogues are back in the States after being pardoned, the New Avengers want nothing to do with them and as far as Tony is concerned, if he never speaks to them again, it'll be too soon. After all, he didn't spend the last year putting himself (and his family) back together only for his former co-workers to ruin all of his hard work.
But then he gets a hand-written letter from the Winter Soldier himself, apologizing for the events that transpired and an off-handed comment from Rhodey about Rogers failing to take care of an obviously miserable Bucky Barnes sets in motion Tony's new, oh-so-evil plan to get some payback.
After all, what better revenge than to steal the Winter Soldier away from his best friend?
The only problem: Tony sucks at being vengeful, but apparently he's an expert at inadvertently falling in love.

The wind soared, it hit against the sharp rocks pulling a laugh from it.
A rock flew hitting Jaskier on the head.
He saw black and fell.

“Are you telling me,” he said, “that because I haven’t met his grumpy ass in a seedy tavern Geralt of Rivia is dead?”
“I am.”
“I still don’t see the choice you spoke of, old man, because if I have to choose between my son’s existence and Geralt of Rivia’s life, then I chose Gaspar without a single doubt,” Jaskier said, even though tears still fell through his cheek.
Borch looked sad.
“That is not the choice you must face, Jaskier. You have to choose between your son, and the fate of the world.”

“Anthony?”
Anthony looks up from the sword he was cleaning painstakingly.
“What?” he demands.
Thor stands in the doorway to his forge, hip cocked outwards, cape red as blood glinting in the low light, as his large arms fold across his chest, running a thumb over his lower lip.
His eyes pass over Anthony’s bare chest, dark beneath his pale eyelashes.
Anthony bites back a sigh; he gives the sword a mournful look – it is very unlikely that he will be able to return to his work that night.
“I have missed you, my love.”
