Chapter Text
Right now, I'm on my way to participate in this new dating reality tv show called Young Singles.
At first, I thought it was a joke when I saw a listing on Facebook that said they wanted 18 year old girls who were interested in dating younger boys and by younger, they mean 8-10 year old boys. I thought it was a joke because no company in their right mind would pay money for a tv show like this, but when I decided to send in an application and audition tape just to test the waters, the information I got back seemed pretty legit and before I knew it, I was hopping onto a plane ride to Canada where the show is being filmed at and now I'm riding in the back seat of a black SUV, making my way to the house I'll be staying at for the next month.
To be completely honest, I'm downright nervous. It's one thing to be attracted and interested in elementary school boys, but it's another to willingly go on a reality tv show where your whole relationship will be broadcasted to who knows how many people. I'm not even entirely sure what cable channel or streaming service this show will be put on once they're done filming, but right now, I'm trying not to think about it too much. I just wanna go in there, party, have fun and if I manage to find my tiny little soulmate then so be it!
Still. I never thought I would come not only come across an ad for a dating reality tv show like this, but that I would also be one of the 8 female contestants on it too and nobody in my personal life even knows the true nature of this show. When I got picked, I told my family I was going on a trip to Canada to look at colleges so they don't even know I'm actually gonna be on a show to date 8-10 year olds and it honestly makes me wonder how the younger boys were able to sign off on something like this when you normally need a parent's permission to do anything.
When the car finally arrived at the lakeside manor, I stepped out of the car to take everything in only to have a giant filming camera immediately shoved into my face and that's when it just really hit me that I'm here. I'm here to find love with an elementary school boy. My stomach was buzzing with both excitement and nervousness so I took a few deep breaths to calm my racing heart then I took my dark purple luggage and began making my way into the house which looked even more beautiful on the inside!
"Oh wow....this house is gorgeous!" I exclaimed in excitement, having never stayed inside a house this big and beautiful before. It looked like something you would find in an IKEA magazine or something.
I set my luggage to the side then I walked deeper into the house, briefly looking around till my eyes landed on a girl that was standing outside on the deck in the backyard.
"Oh. I'm not the first one here," I mumbled to myself then I made my way outside so I can greet her.
"Hi!"
The girl turned around and when she saw me, a big smile broke out on her face. She was a beautiful girl with neutral white skin, light brown curly hair that was half up in a small ponytail and half down and a sweet face that could draw you in before she pounces on you.
"Hi!! I'm Jessie!" She said, quickly pulling me into a hug which I returned.
"Nice to meet you! I'm Avery."
"Oh my gosh, Avery. I hope you're just as excited as I am about being here."
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm both excited and nervous."
Jessie giggled. "Of course. Wanna head inside? I'm starting to sweat under the sun."
"Definitely!"
We went back inside and decided to sit down on the couch in the living room so we can continue talking and getting to know each other.
"So, what made you wanna come on this show? Not gonna lie, it's pretty unconventional," I told Jessie.
Jessie giggled. "You're not kidding! Well, it all started when I fell in love with my best friend's little brother. He's had a crush on me since he was like 5 and when he turned 8, I decided to give him a birthday kiss and we ended up going further than that. After we slept together, we decided to give dating a try, but it only lasted for a couple months until I realized the relationship wasn't substantial. Not because of his age, but because I didn't want to hurt my best friend like that. I valued our friendship way more than just some dick so I cut it off. He was deeply hurt and wouldn't talk to me for months, but now he's coming back around to being friends with me. What about you?"
I blinked, not having expected to hear that type of drama. It definitely sounded like something out of a Lifetime movie. "Wow...um....me? Well...I tried dating some guys my age and it never worked out. At first I thought I was broken because I really just didn't find any guy attractive so I started considering maybe I was just asexual? But then I started seeing younger boys differently and....yeah!" I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly.
This was the first time I ever told someone this story because I didn't feel like I could trust anybody in my circle, but I feel like I can trust Jessie and anybody else who comes through those doors because we're both in the same situation. We wanna find love with younger boys.
"It started when I found this one male child actor from my favorite movie attractive and I obsessively started watching every movie he was in then it went from that to finding my new neighbor's son attractive and I started hanging out with him, but it only made my attraction to him grow more so I slowly stopped hanging out with him because in a way I felt guilty, I guess. He probably only saw me as a fun big sister to hang out with while I couldn't stop thinking about wanting to kiss him and now its led me to joining this show. I feel like I can have a little less guilt since the boys that come on here are also looking for love," I explained to her.
Jessie smiled with a nod. "Aw that sucks, but I hope you'll be able to find what you're looking for here. I'm glad we're in this together!"
"Hello! Helloooo!"
Me and Jessie looked up from our position on the couch when we heard a voice and footsteps coming in through the front door. The living room started becoming packed quickly as 6 other girls came in and greeted us which started to overwhelm me since I wasn't that comfortable being in a huge social setting so I was only able to take note of Kimberly, a girl with neutral white skin, short curly dark brown hair and round black glasses. She looked like she could be a church going librarian and not the type of person that would come to something like this. Then there was April, a girl with neutral white skin and straight light brown short hair. She also looked pretty friendly and innocent and not the type of girl that would spend her nights partying. Next was Lexi, a punk rock looking girl with neutral white skin, black tattoos on her arms and hands, short light pink hair and facial piercings. She most definitely looked like someone who likes to fuck around and party and maybe even smoke some weed on her off days and lastly was Morgan, another girl with neutral white skin and bright orange curly hair that was in two braids. She looked more like a country bumpkin who enjoys spending the day on the farm.
And then there was me....an introverted girl that likes to keep her head down, but who also wears her heart on her sleeve. A neutral white skinned girl with a shaved head dyed pink, a couple nose and ear piercings who likes to wear baggy clothes to hide her skinny frame. A girl named Avery.
"Why don't we go sit outside? It's really nice out!" Morgan suggested and we all agreed, quickly following her out to the back where there was couches we could sit on.
"So, what's yall's story?" Morgan then asked, glancing around our group of 8 girls.
"I can go first!" Jessie quickly volunteered and she began telling the same exact story she told me earlier about how she discovered her attraction to younger boys and how it led her to coming onto the show.
After she was done, each girl went around, telling their own story until it was my time and I shyly told the girls the story I told Jessie earlier.
"Yeeeeah that's tough. I've been there too," Morgan chimed in.
Lexi snorted. "I wouldn't have given a fuck. I've fucked my exes younger brothers and sisters before," She proudly admitted.
"Yeah well not everybody is a free spirit like you, Lexi," Jessie shot back at her teasingly.
"I can relate to Jessie's story. I know I'm not the most attractive person in the world so when this one boy started giving me attention when I spent afternoons after school in my mom's classroom, I couldn't help growing a crush on him and when he gave me a flower and told me he liked me, I wanted to pursue the relationship, but I couldn't do that to my mom so I rejected him," Kimberly explained.
"But now we don't have to feel any guilt here. We can freely pursue any boy we want," April chimed in with a smile.
"Here! Here!" Lexi said as she held up her glass of water before taking a sip.
"So how old is the boys that we're gonna be dating?" April then asked.
"I think 8-10 is the range?" Kimberly said.
"So basically 3rd, 4th and 5th graders," Jessie said.
"Have yall ever dated or crushed on anyone younger?" Lexi then asked with a smirk.
"I couldn't. Anybody younger than 8 is downright annoying as hell," Jessie said with a chuckle, taking a sip of her water.
"I wonder who is gonna be the first to have sex in this house," Lexi said casually.
Jessie smirked. "Probably you," She said teasingly.
Lexi held her hands up in defense, smirking. "Guilty as charged!"
"Is anybody here a virgin?" April questioned.
"In what way?" Morgan asked.
"Yeah, are we talking virgin as in never had sex in general? Or never had sex with a younger boy?" Jessie asked.
April smiled shyly. "I guess both?"
"Well, we know Lexi aint a virgin," Jessie teased, earning a grin from Lexi.
"I am in both ways," Kimberly said as she raised her hand like she was in school.
"I tried having sex with a past boyfriend who was my age before, but I didn't enjoy it, though I've never slept with a younger boy before," April said.
"I've had sex with guys my age before and the first time I slept with a younger boy was my best friend's younger brother," Jessie said.
"My first time was with my grandparent's neighbor's son. They live on a farm so anytime I visited them, I would sometimes hang out with the kid and one night while we were hanging out in the barn, we hooked up. We kept hooking up until I had to go back home. It was a fun time!" Morgan said with a smile.
Everybody then looked at me since I was the last person that didn't chime in and I could feel myself growing increasingly nervous from feeling their stares on me.
"U-um...I never had sex before, but I want to. I'm not gonna actively pursue it, but if I end up falling for one of the boys here, I wouldn't be against it," I explained then I smiled softly. "I actually want my first time to be with a younger boy,"
Jessie smiled at me and she rested a hand on my hand. "I hope that happens for you."
"So, does anybody's family knows about their attraction to younger boys?" April then asked us all and we all collectively just looked at each other in silence.
"I don't have a good relationship with my folks so I wouldn't bother telling them anyways," Lexi said with a shrug.
"I don't want the backlash to fall back on my mom so I've been keeping it to myself," Kimberly said.
Jessie nodded. "Makes sense since she's a teacher. I haven't told anybody either. I'm sure if I had kept up with the relationship with my best friend's younger brother, she probably would've walked in on us sooner or later, but thankfully I ended the relationship before that happened."
"That definitely would've been terrifying," April agreed.
"Guys, look!" April shouted as she pointed over to a boat that was coming towards us.
We all stood up and hurried over to the edge of the deck to see that the large boat was carrying 8 passengers, 8 small passengers at that.
"That must be the boys!" Jessie said excitedly.
"I hope they're cute," Lexi said as she watched the boat come closer and closer with such intensity.
Feeling the buzzing of excitement coming from the girls honestly started rubbing off of me and I found myself growing more and more excited by the minute too.
The boat stopped right in front of the small dock in front of the house and one by one, the boys that we're gonna be dating started getting off the boat and coming up to the house, chatting excitedly like typical pre-teen boys. So far, nobody was really catching my eye or standing out to me until my eyes landed on one of the boys in the back who looked like he was annoyed just by being here.
He had short medium brown hair and he looked to be about 9, maybe 10. He was really cute and I found myself compelled to get to know him, but I wasn't sure if he was even gonna give me the time of day.
"Hey, boys!" Jessie called out excitedly.
The boys came over to us in a group then they slowly dispersed as they went to go find a girl to talk to. Some of the boys had no problem striking up a conversation and attempting to flirt with some of the girls while others were engaging in awkward conversation.
I was the only one not talking to someone which I wasn't surprised at all. I let out a soft sigh, taking a look around until my eyes landed on the boy from before. He had his hands in his blue jean pants pockets and was busy kicking at the grass under his feet. Now was my chance to talk to him. Maybe he would appreciate the friendliness!
"Hey!" I heard a young voice calling out to me as soon as I took a step forward so I looked over to see a young boy who looked like he goes golfing with his dad on the weekends.
"Hi," I greeted back politely.
"Wanna talk and get to know each other?"
I couldn't help smiling at his politeness so I nodded, taking one glance back at the other boy before following golf boy to the couch to sit down.
We chatted for a little bit and I learned his name is Eric, but my mind was elsewhere. I wasn't that interested in the boy even when he rested a hand on my leg and tried to flirt with me.
"Hey, you know anything about that boy over there?" I asked him, nodding to the boy from earlier.
Eric looked over to where I was looking then he frowned in annoyance.
"Oh him? He's really annoying. He likes to start trouble for no reason! On the boat ride here, he picked a fight with another boy. I would stay away from him if I was you," He told me.
For some reason, I couldn't really take the boy at his word. I believe there's always two sides to every story.
Suddenly, there was a ping sound that went off and I looked around to see Jessie pulling out a phone.
"Guys, I got a text!" She announced and we all crowded around her so we can hear what the text says.
"Welcome to Young Singles," Jessie started off. "As a good ice breaker, the first game you will be playing is called Secrets. You must write down your deepest, darkest secret on a piece of paper and each person will pull out a randomized note and have to try and figure out who the secret belongs to. The person with the most wins will get to pick who to go on their first date with. Good luck!"
"Sounds like a fun, laid back party game. I'm in!" Kimberly said.
With everybody excited to play the game, we all went inside the house and quickly wrote out our secrets before folding them up and placing them in a bowl. I had a tough time figuring out what secret I wanted to share since I didn't have that many secrets to begin with so I wasn't sure if mine was gonna be interesting or not to some people.
"I'll go first!" Jessie announced then she sat down in a dining room chair in front of the living room while the rest of us sat on couches and floor and we watched Jessie fiddle around in the bowl before pulling out a piece of paper.
"I used a banana as a sex toy," She read off the note then she looked around before she pointed to Lexi.
"This is Lexi's note!"
Lexi smirked, shaking her head. "Nope. Try again."
Jessie frowned. "Damn! Whose the owner of this note?" She asked.
Kimberly nervously raised her hand. "I am."
Lexi's eyes widened then she grinned. "Oooh~ Do tell."
Kimberly smiled shyly then she shrugged. "It's...it's no big deal! I was just curious to see how it would feel so I tried it out."
"Okay, who's next?" Lexi asked.
"I'll go!" April announced, standing up next to take Jessie's place.
One by one, both the girls and even the boys stood up to read off notes until it was time for mine to be read and I sat there nervously.
"I had a crush on a guy who ended up getting one of my friends pregnant," Kimberly read off.
"Ooooh," Lexi said.
"Damn that sucks," Jessie said with a chuckle.
"Hmm....Avery?" Kimberly said.
I smiled and nodded, raising my hand. "Guilty."
"And that's all of the secrets! So who ended up winning?" Kimberly asked.
"I've been keeping score and it looks like Eric won!"
"Heck yeah!" Eric, aka golf boy, shouted as he jumped up in excitement. "I wanna go on a date with Jessie!"
Lexi snorted. "Good luck, Jessie."
Jessie playfully stuck her tongue out at Lexi. "Alright. Let's go get ready!" She told Eric then the both of them walked away to go prepare for their date while everybody else dispersed, either to go talk to each other or to go do another things around the house which left me feeling a bit alone as now I had to figure out how to entertain myself then I looked over to the kitchen to see the boy from earlier who was isolating himself again so I decided to take the chance to try and go talk to him again.
