Work Text:
You clenched your glass almost a bit too tightly. You should probably take a sip, it would help ease the stress. Nothing fancy, just water – though perhaps they poured some fancy bottled water from the springs of Mount WhoKnowsWhere, the family you were visiting struck you as the type to do so. There may have been something else you wished to drink, but upon being asked, you weren’t sure what they did or didn’t have, or what was rude to ask for, so you settled for water. Can’t go wrong with that, after all. You could have sworn that you saw eggnog on the table earlier, but that couldn’t be possible – it was spring! Although… this place did seem to have a lot of Christmas decorations still up. Seemed like some kind of all-year Christmas thing they were doing. Weird, but perhaps it was just a monster thing.
You thought to ask the monster that sat beside you, but like before, did not want to seem rude. The others tossed you two into her bedroom, since you seemed similar enough in age and thought perhaps you could entertain yourselves instead of being bored to death by the inter-family political discussion happening in the other room. Good thing they were right. You already knew that it couldn’t end well – whatever relation you had to these random monsters living in the middle of nowhere was too thin and insignificant for any real exchange to occur. It was just because they were rich, and you knew it well. Just looking at the very couch you were sitting on, not only is it a couch inside a bedroom, its sheer size and length made it the couch equivalent of a limousine.
At long last, you took a sip of your glass. Just water. If whatever they poured in here was different to your usual glass, you were none the wiser. You were tempted to ask the monster girl next to you. There were so many things you wanted to know about monsters, this was your first time really meeting any, but once more, you had to avoid being rude, lest it tarnish the image your family was trying to portray. So, why not ask about humans instead? You were told that there were none in this town, but you most certainly saw one on the way here, slouching as they walked down the street, their hair covering their eyes. It intrigued you.
You finally turned your head to the girl and asked,
“Uh. Noelle, was it?”
She nodded, a gentle smile forming on her face. She almost seemed curious, too.
“So, I… heard there were no humans in this town, but I totally saw one just before, is that like…?” You shrugged, unable to finish your sentence.
“Oh! Um, I have no idea who said that, because, well, we do have one human! Their name’s Kris – short, um, dead stare, green sweater? Is that who you meant?” Noelle answered quite clearly.
You nodded, extremely glad that you hadn’t accidentally asked about some vampire, shapeshifter, or other lookalike.
“I’ve known them since like, forever! They’re kind of shy, b-but, they’re really great once you get to know them… though, um, they can be kind of mischievous at times,” she described.
“Mischievous…?” You were even more intrigued hearing it.
“Well, maybe not mischievous, but… okay, yeah, they’re um, quite mischievous. Used to be more as a kid, but they like to pull pranks and other dumb stuff. Usually on me. It was fun! M…Most of the time,” she confusingly explained.
“Uh… interesting,” you awkwardly responded. You weren’t quite sure what to say at this point as you didn’t want to ask too many questions about someone other than who you were speaking to. Some of the noise from outside started to seep through. You took another sip from your glass, your full attention now focused on Noelle.
“This is actually m-my first time meeting a human other than Kris, so, are there any cool like, human facts you could tell me?” Noelle asked. Maybe probing about monster antics wasn’t so rude after all.
“I… well. I don’t know anything about monsters, so I have no idea what isn’t normal for them, you know? Like, compared to humans,” you answered, really not knowing what to say. You took another sip of your glass to avoid eye contact as Noelle continued the discussion.
“Oh… um… y-yeah, that’s fair! So… anything you want to know, then?”
You’re nearly at the bottom of your glass already. You have no idea what to ask, as you really haven’t noticed much that’s that different about monsters. You were still curious yet scared to ask about what was up with all of that Christmas stuff. You decided that you wanted to learn more about the town that you’d presumably be staying for a night or so.
“I’ve never been here, so, is there anything interesting that goes on?”
“Faha, Hometown is quite boring, r-really. We do run a festival every once in a while, b-but it’s not on anytime soon, so, um,” Noelle admitted. “There’s a pretty lake just down the road… oh, and a diner!”
It’s about as boring as you expected, but you were delighted to hear that there was at least something to keep you busy. Or perhaps, someone…? No way. Head out of the gutter. The diner sounds nice, though you didn’t bring any cash.
“Better than nothing. Say, is there any chance-” you were interrupted by the knocking of Noelle’s bedroom door. You held your thought as she stepped up, it fizzled out as she opened the door to a new, different deer girl who rather abrasively spoke to who you presumed was her sister.
“Yo. Mom’s kicking us out for a couple hours to have some ‘important conversation’ with the visitors.”
A putrid stench seemed to emanate from the sister.
“Ah…” Noelle scratched her antler as she turned to you. “Guess, um- we’ll see you again in a bit.”
You scoffed. “Oh, they don’t want me around either, trust me. You… mind if I tag along?”
Noelle was delighted. “Um, you sure-? I mean, not at all! You can just leave your glass on the couch, I’ll deal with it later, faha…”
“Oh, neat,” you set the glass down beside you as you lifted yourself up and followed the deer sisters out of the room. You didn’t have the time to bother grabbing anything to bring with you.
You glanced at a rather heated discussion between the two families on the way through the front door. Not your business. The door slammed behind you three, and without hesitation the two deer headed for the gate, Noelle’s stride sparking confidence, her sister’s somewhat limping motion down the driveway doing the exact opposite. They walked beside each other, you following just behind at a steady pace.
“So. Human, huh?” Noelle’s sister asked sarcastically, turning her head to look behind her. “I won’t bother you ‘bout it. You’re gonna get that a lot while we’re out.”
You sniffled. “Yeah.”
Noelle’s head also swiveled around to face you. “Oh! I forgot to um, introduce- uh, this is December, my sister.”
“Holy crap, do all monsters base their lives around Christmas or something?” is what you would ask if you had any guts.
“Dude, just call me Dess,” December corrected.
“Got it. Uh, nice to meet you, Dess,” you attempted to greet her properly. That stench was still very noticeable.
The three of you reached the gates and stepped onto the paved road. Things seemed rather lively, many monsters of all different varieties outside of their houses and enjoying the sunlight now that it’s finally around.
“You know, I feel bad for ya,” Dess looked at you as she spoke. “I mean- dragged along to fucking Hometown for spring break? That must suck!”
You chuckled. “Yeah, usually I’d be out with my friends or something right now…” you lied. You would spend it all lazing around at home and you know it.
“Damn, sounds fun, wish I could do something like that,” Dess envied. “I’m just spending the whole week barely leaving the house...”
Damn it, should have been honest. You’re starting to really get this Dess girl, despite the smell. Before you could continue the conversation, a loud thumping noise approached behind you. Turning around, you were met with the large white physique of a third monster who emerged from the same gate as you three. He boasted a smile, greeting you with his deep yet comforting voice.
“Why, hello there! Nice to meet you, human,” he extended his hand – more of a paw, really – offering a handshake. You carefully obliged, being nearly tossed into the air by the sheer force exerted through your feeble human hand. He did not appear to notice, continuing his proposition. “We don’t exactly get humans visiting often… say, why don’t I treat you all to some QC’s?”
QC’s? Was that some kind of slang? You weren’t sure.
“Yeah!” Noelle eagerly agreed, bouncing slightly.
“Sure, but we’re not letting you pay, Asgore.”
Asgore? So this beast who is taking you all to what you now understand to be the diner is named Asgore. It struck you as an odd name, but at least it wasn’t Christmas related. Looks like you have an answer to your earlier question (which you did not ask). You nodded along as the four of you continued down the road and made a right turn soon after getting a distance away from the gates. Asgore walked beside you, a neat square forming of Dess-Noelle-You-Asgore as you walked the streets of Hometown. Asgore turned to you with that same warm smile and kindly let you know,
“You know, if you ever have any human troubles – feel free to come to me!”
You smiled, but thought perhaps this was some self-proclaimed human expert that knew nothing in reality. Despite the act, Asgore seemed to sense your skepticism and elaborated further.
“…You see, I raised the only human in this town, so I happen to know a thing or two about them.”
Your smile turned genuine, not upon knowing that this burly monster was knowledgeable, but upon finding out that this same burly monster must be the father of…
Kris…
Thinking about who you saw on the approach to the Holiday manor, you felt warm. To think that you were already making acquaintances with their father… No. What? It’s not that deep! You’re just glad that there’s a human somewhere in this boring place. Especially one so cute.
…What?
You nearly bumped into Dess in front of you as she and Noelle came to a slowdown upon entry of what you could now see as QC’s Diner. Smalltown eats, huh? It only just hit you that they might not even serve human food. Though perhaps they kept something on the menu for Kris. Wonder if Kris comes here often?
QC’s seemed a popular place to be, the room filled with chatter, and a lot of visibly school-aged monsters, presumably due to spring break. Nice to know that you can make that distinction with monsters, too. A booth on the left hand side of the room was empty, though a few empty cups and plates littered the table from whoever sat there previously. No one appeared to formally seat the four of you, as you elected to seat yourselves in the empty booth.
As you did so, you noticed a few eyes peep your direction, curious to see a human. You wondered how many of them had ever seen a human other than Kris. It felt unfair to think that they got to know Kris while you didn’t.
You were squashed slightly against the window side of the booth as Asgore sat next to you, with Dess opposite you. A larger, cat-looking monster who seemed like she would rather be anywhere else showed up at the table to clean the previous customers’ mess and hand out menus. You were pleased to read what sounded like mostly normal human food. Asgore reassured you, informing you that every item on the menu was in fact “human-eatable”. A wide variety of stereotypical diner food caught your eye – burgers, sandwiches, fries, even some seafood… though ‘onion rings’ had been hastily crossed out, perhaps someone took issue with that. You wondered what Kris’ favourite thing to order was. You could ask Asgore.
“Uh, what does Kris like to get?” you chose to do so.
“Oh, my. I stopped paying attention after the waitress stopped asking, since they would get it so mu-” Asgore began to answer before halting his speech for a moment. “I… never told you their name, did I?”
You were in shock. You had no clue how to answer that, thinking that you might have just come off creepy or intrusive. Before you could say anything, Asgore continued speaking.
He chuckled, “But of course- you’re the only other human this town has seen in… well, forever! It’s no wonder that you would be quick to hear about them.”
You were relieved. You looked in front of you to Dess and Noelle, who were initially lost in their own separate conversation, but joined back with you and Asgore upon hearing his laugh. You then looked down at the menu, your hunger getting the best of you, wanting so badly to satisfy your tastebuds, whether that be with greasy diner food or the sweetness of… of… okay, seriously, what the hell is up with you today? The cat waitress came back around. You still hadn’t quite decided, but you weren’t going to fuss over your order from this random diner in the middle of nowhere. Burger and fries it was. Before you could order anything, Asgore politely informed the waitress that the four of you were not ready to order yet. Well, that gives you more time, but now your mind is set, so, oh well. You wish he hadn’t sent her away, as you were seriously getting hungry, especially upon seeing and smelling the food that was being served out to everyone else, and definitely upon seeing…
K…Kris??
Kris stumbled into the diner, seemingly not noticing any of your party as they placed themself on a stool by the counter, talking directly to the bunny lady tending the bar. After hours of curiosity getting the better of you, you finally had proper sight of the legendary Kris, Human of Hometown. You assumed that finally you could put your mind at rest after all of the fluff and sugarcoating regarding some random human from this random town. You assumed wrong. Upon seeing Kris, your mind broke into pieces and jumbled, there was just something so alluring about that green sweater, that dark, shoulder length hair, and that gentle, almost yellow skin, so easy on the eyes.
Asgore called them from across the room. Their head jolted in your direction, sending shockwaves through your body. They looked not at their father, but at you. It was undeniable now – they had seen you. They had acknowledged you. Their eyes were impossible to see behind the shadow of their bangs, nevertheless you felt their gaze. Your eyes darted from side to side. You could not maintain eye contact for the life of you. Their expression was still, it was gentle yet intimidating. They left your vision as you stared down at the menu, the sheer intensity of their presence getting the better of you. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath through your nose, losing focus of what was happening around you. You fixed your position, looked towards Asgore, and opened your eyes.
“Hey, A-”
You froze in place and nearly screamed. Asgore no longer sat in this booth, as their seat was now taken by none other than Kris. Kris was sitting next to you, peeking at the menu as if they didn’t already know their order the moment they walked in. They turned their head to you gently and mumbled,
“...hey.”
You wanted to know everything about them. Growing up the only human in a town of entirely monsters, what does that do? How did they turn out? They seemed quite timid. Admittedly, seeing them made you act the same. There was so much you wanted to say, but in the end nothing was shared between you two besides a deadpan stare and the occasional smile. However, you two did join in conversation with the deer girls sitting opposite.
“I’m so goddamn hungry,” Dess complained.
“munchies, huh?” Kris teased. You were reminded of Dess’ signature stench.
“S- Shut up,” Dess pushed back, bashfully.
Kris had turned their head to the cat waitress who stood across the room. Very soon the two locked eyes, and a swift yet gentle nod from the human’s part served as a rather efficient signal to the cat, who in the blink of an eye had appeared by the table once more.
“Oh. They’re multiplying now,” she scoffed, finally taking notice of your existence.
“Um, c-can we just order?” Noelle requested, seeming somewhat frustrated.
“...Yeah,” the cat obliged.
Noelle was first to order, then Dess, who looked like she was ready to kill someone, then you. The cat looked at you with a death glare that made you feel like your mere existence somehow intruded on this girl’s peace of mind.
“I’ll just have like, a basic cheeseburger and, um, a fries,” you stuttered.
“Regular or large,” she struck.
“R…Regular,” you felt attacked.
She scoffed, looking at Kris. Kris stood up and leaned towards her, whispering something into her ear. She tilted her head slightly down. Her eyes gazed at you, then at Kris, who sat back down.
“thanks, catti,” they told her as she headed off.
A cat called Cattie, huh? Must be a nickname, especially considering that Kris seemed to share something with her. You kept your eyes on Kris, who continued to gaze at Catti after she left, before turning to look at Noelle, who sat across from them. You weren’t sure, but you could have sworn that they were sitting closer to you now than just a moment ago.
“hey, noelle… after this we should, go play games at yours,” they offered her.
That was the clearest you had heard their voice since their first “hey” a couple minutes ago. You adored their voice – the way they mumbled so gently, almost like a whisper, it was so easy to get lost in it, as if it could put you to sleep…
“Oh, w-we’ve been kicked out for a while, sorry Kris,” Noelle’s voice was cute too, though it was startling against the figurative cushion or soft blanket that was Kris’ vocals, which you could listen to for hours on end. Kris did not respond to Noelle, only emitting a soft noise that sat somewhere between a grunt and a whine, which you found cute. You opted to be the next to speak.
“Uh, we could go to the lake, maybe?” You suggested to the group.
“Y- Yeah!” Noelle eagerly affirmed.
“Sounds good,” Dess agreed.
Kris had no expression, perhaps they nodded when you weren’t looking. You should look at Kris more, you thought – it was the best thing to do before you could look at your food instead. Kris rested their arms by their sides, hands slightly pushing against the leather of the seat. You could see that their sweater had long sleeves, with a single wide yellow stripe crossing the middle of it, a feature you hadn’t noticed previously. At the end of their sleeves, their hands rested. They wore black fingerless gloves, with matching black nail polish. Pretty, you thought. You could see now that their pants were brown, an interesting match for the sweater, but to you it worked well.
You finally lifted your head up to look at their face, which was… staring directly at yours this whole time. Shit. You nearly gasped. You were being so weird, and you were embarrassed. You gave a hasty, mumbly, “S…Sorry,” before turning back to look at your menu which was no longer there. Kris said nothing in response. From the corner of your eye you could see that they were still looking at your face, at least until their food arrived, barely a minute later. Their food was the first and only to be served so far, which makes sense as they did order before everyone else, presumably when they sat at the counter earlier.
You tried not to look too much at Kris while they ate, but from what you could gleam, they ate it all with their hands, and weren’t the most keen on chewing with their mouth closed, though it didn’t seem to create any noise. Their mouth and hands were kept clean with no extra residue. Maybe this was a monster thing.
Speaking of monsters, a new one appeared at the end of the table, standing next to Kris. They were blue and feathery, resembling a bird, and spoke to Kris in a nasal tone of voice.
“Being gluttonous again, are we, Kris?”
“that’s right, berdly. and next course is wings,” Kris stuck back, immediately latching onto Berdly’s arm, biting into it. Berdly yelped, shaking his arm – or perhaps a wing – in order to release the human’s grasp. Kris let go out of their own volition, spitting a patch of blue fluff out onto their plate before continuing to munch on their meal.
“Yeah, Bernie, now piss off before we all eat you up, ‘cause we’re fucking starving,” Dess threatened B…Birdly? Bernie? Given that the cat was named Cattie, you wouldn’t be surprised if this bird was named Birdly. Dess confused you as to what the bird’s name actually was. Either way, she seemed hungry, as you were too.
“Kris. Tonight, my place. I will eat you up with my expertly video game skills!” Berdly challenged.
“shorry,” Kris declined with a mouth full of food. “already ate up – *gulp* – your mom last night...”
Berdly snarled. Noelle covered her mouth, Dess chuckling.
“...and besides, i’m busy tonight,” they finished their sentence.
“Oh, is that so, Kris? I don’t suppose that you’ll be spending it with this fine stranger sitting next to you?” Berdly teased. He turned to face you. “New human, I would happen to know a thing or two about what fellows of your fine species enjoy – I say you ditch this unkempt fiend and be my Player Two…” He pulled out a rose which he appeared to be conveniently carrying on his person, placing the stem of it through his mouth.
He can NOT seriously be doing this right now. What. Why. And the assumptions he made about you and Kris? It seriously angered you.
“Speechless, young human?” He said. You two were the same age. “Why, that is indeed no surprise coming from the charisma of I, Berdly, well endowed Masterlord…”
No. Fucking. Way. He thinks what he’s doing is actually working?
“Berdly, please, you’re-” Noelle tried to push Berdly back, but was interrupted by none other than yourself, as Berdly’s shenanigans up until this point caused you to begin hysterically laughing out loud. You were mildly embarrassed as you were quite sure that the entire diner could hear you right now, but it was worth it to laugh in his face. It seemed that the others were on board with you, anyway.
Berdly let out a long sigh, before finally seeing himself out of the room. You finally stopped laughing as a neatly arranged plate of a cheeseburger and fries appeared before you. It seems that the burger and fries order was combined into one and served on a single plate. How thoughtful! It seemed that everyone’s (except Kris’) order came at the same time, as you spotted Dess hastily chewing into her own plate of food. Kris had nearly finished their food already.
Right before you could reach into your first bite of monster-cooked food, Catti placed a large sundae in front of you – it was vanilla, decorated with mounds of sprinkles and chocolate. You didn’t order this, but as Catti explained,
“Here… for our special visitor. Not lactose free, by the way.”
She disappeared before you could say thank you. It seemed that this Cattie girl had more heart in her than she let on.
Looking back down at your food, you noticed a certain gloved human hand pinching a fry. You started to realise what exactly “mischievous” meant. Kris tried to justify themself to you, fry in their mouth.
“you should be glad, i saved you. that one was poisonous.”
Poisonous? Poisonous? Asgore said everything was fine for humans! No. Kris is eating the so-called “poisonous” fry. This was a prank. You played along.
“How am I supposed to know which ones are poisonous?” You innocently asked.
“you aren’t. only i know. for example-” Kris continued to fool. They reached back to your plate and pinched two more fries, immediately chucking them into their mouth. “those were poisonous too. and i think i see a poisonous bite on that burger.”
“Yeah, no…” You put down your act, picking up your cheeseburger. You noticed that since leaning in to steal your fries, Kris’ thigh squished ever so slightly against yours.
“alright,” Kris shrugged. “enjoy dying.”
“Don’t- Ugh, Kris…” Noelle opposed Kris’ antics, before turning to you. “They, um, do this to everyone, faha.”
You weren’t surprised. “Yeah, it’s- it’s okay, really.”
You peeped a smirk from Kris as you bit into your food. You were getting slightly annoyed as they were clearly starting to make a dent in your fries supply, though you couldn’t manage to be annoyed at Kris, because, well, look at that cute face! It was so close to yours now. They had finished eating now, and… were they just… watching you eat? No, they were seeing if you were noticing them stealing more fries. Which you were. Whether Kris could tell that or not, they clearly did not care. You should probably stop them.
“Uh, K…Kris?” you felt guilty telling them. “Save some for me, would you?”
Kris retracted their hand, pouting. “fine. i’m telling you, though- those were all poisonous.”
You scoffed, finally able to enjoy your food in peace. It was pretty tasty. Not revolutionary, but still worth it, and you’d take it over fast food any day of the week. Of what fries you had left, you managed to polish off, and while Kris’ joke was funny, it overstayed its welcome, and you wish they hadn’t eaten half of them. Right as everyone was just about finished, Catti appeared once more, placing a new basket of fries in front of you, making no comment before disappearing once more.
“noelle felt bad, so she got you those. they’re not poisonous, i checked,” Kris politely informed you.
Sweet. Just what you needed, though there was no way you would manage to have all of those. You thanked Noelle. She smiled, seeming somewhat confused. You started to pick at your fries, though they were still quite hot. From the corner of your eye, you notice Dess… winking at Kris? You saw Noelle fishing something out of her handbag. Kris had finished their food and was now resting their head flat on the table. You thought it was funny how they appeared as a blob of hair. You reached out your hand to- no. That’s weird. You retracted your hand, instead guiding it towards your freshly served order of fries.
Dess was giving you a death stare, it seemed that she was catching onto you, and she was NOT happy. You glanced at Kris, who had not moved, then back at Dess, who… was nodding? What? The hell could that mean? Noelle picked at the remains of her food, she was none the wiser. You raised your hand, leaning it slightly towards Kris. Dess nodded once more. Just a second ago you could have sworn she had it in for you, but now she seemed to be signalling for you to go forward? You slowly dragged your hand towards the top of Kris’ head, it being face-down on the table, keeping a keen eye on Dess’ expression. She remained still, smirking ever so slightly.
Fuck it.
Your hand landed on their head, gently. You clenched your fingers in and out, massaging their head softly. They remained expressionless, they could have been passed out then and there for all you knew. Dess lost her gaze, now scrolling through her phone, having finished her food, however Noelle seemed to take notice, her hands covering her mouth as her eyes darted between you and Kris, whose head shuffled slightly. They seemed to appreciate it, however the slight motion scared you off, and you retracted your hand in the span of just a few milliseconds. They remained still.
Catti appeared once more, as Noelle requested the bill. Catti rather impolitely informed her,
“...He already paid.”
She pointed at Asgore, who sat across two stools at the counter, having a very eager conversation with the lady serving him, whilst very clearly still chewing through his food.
Dess grunted loudly, angrily complaining that “I fucking told him not to- ugh. Whatever.”
Catti was gone once more. You were interested in her apparent ability to somehow appear and disappear at will. Noelle placed her purse back in her handbag. Dess rested her hand on her shoulder, looking at you.
“Yo, you finished with those?” She asked.
About half of the fries were left. You were pretty much done, so you simply nodded, and she snatched the basket from you, shoving handfuls into her mouth as she gazed out the window. Your head swung down, looking at your legs as you took a deep breath, and – Kris’ hand was on your thigh.
Kris’. Hand. Was on your thigh.
When. How. What. You didn’t know how to feel about this. You- oh. Of course. It was just a coincidence. It was so loosely placed, it must have just landed there along with their head on the table. If they did that intentionally, well, that would be weird, right? Though, it’s not like you would mind…
…you kind of wish they meant it.
“Um, are we all finished?” Noelle posed. “Should we head to the lake, n…now?”
Kris’ head snapped up, looking at Noelle, then at you, then back at Noelle. They nodded. Dess looked at Kris, then at you, then at Noelle, giving a simple “Yeah.”
Kris tumbled out of the booth, making way for you to slide out from behind them. They rubbed their eyes. Dess spoke to Noelle, but you didn’t really catch anything she said. Surprisingly, it was Kris who led everyone out of the diner, head tilted slightly towards the ground, hands in their pockets. Seeing the back of their head made them seem so close yet so distant. They walked at a pace that kept a large gap between them and the rest of the group. You tried catching up. They made a turn towards where you came from previously with Asgore. You managed to get closer, hanging only a metre behind them. They made a right to walk opposite the gate to Noelle’s house, which you could just spot when looking behind you. You did not spot Noelle or Dess, however. Paved road turned into dirt as you passed a shop named Flower King. Kris did not seem to mind how close anyone followed, never even turning their head. You thought to tell them to slow down – no, you ought to tell them to slow down…
…but couldn’t bring yourself to. No Dess or Noelle? Just you and Kris? You had to take that opportunity. You felt selfish… you were selfish, but at this moment you didn’t care. You just wanted Kris. The thought began to excite you. You and Kris, sitting alone at this lake… you hoped it was a nice lake. Romantic, even. Only now did it hit you that what you felt could be romantic. Of course. To what extent exactly did you wish for romance with Kris? You thought back to seeing their hand on your thigh. You wanted more of that… physical. You wanted to be physical with them. How physical? Starting with their hand on your thigh, you could… hold their hand? Bring them in closer? Hug them? Pat their head more?
…Kiss them?
Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes.YES. You wanted all of that. You needed it. You felt pathetic, knowing that you felt none of this earlier in the day, but, you set it aside thinking of all the things you wanted to with Kris… with…. Kris……… with………………. Kr-
Your right foot started to fall. Your instincts kicked in, but it was too late, you were tripping. Blue engulfed your vision, and-
You felt something tug on your shirt. You were yanked backwards, and reeled into the embrace of two small, yellow hands which rested gently above your chest, their arms wrapping around each side of you. Kris saved you.
“i… you, uh, are you, i, uh… are you okay?” They mumbled frantically, their voice closer to your ear than ever before. “i’m so sorry – i-it’s a sudden drop, i should have- i had to let-”
You placed your right hand on theirs, consoling them. “It’s fine, really, you- you’re fine, what matters is that… you saved me…”
You let go of their hand and they retracted their arms as you swiveled around to face them. You did not step back. You could feel their breath on your face.
“Th…thank you, Kris,” you were flustered out of your mind. This could not be happening.
“it’s really nothing, just- as long as you’re fine, okay?” They tried to push back your appreciation.
It was hard to look at Kris. Your eyes veered slightly off to the side, eyeing the pretty growing leaves on the trees of the forest. The two of you stood completely still, being silent for about a minute, before you said,
“The, uh, lake is really pretty.”
“...you’re not even looking at the lake.”
Fuck.
“Uh…” you tried to fix your speech. “You’re really p-pretty…?”
- NO. NOT WHAT YOU MEANT. WELL, IT’S TRUE, BUT-
Kris visibly blushed. “oh… am i?”
“Yeah! It’s, uh, all I can uh, think… about…”
Why were you being so goddamn honest??? Now was NOT the time. You’ve just made things SO weird with them. Now they’ll never like you, not in a million- they grabbed your hand, clenching it tightly.
“really? you, you mean it?” They pled. Seems as if they just appreciated the compliment.
“Y…Yeah! Of course I mean it!” You confirmed.
They shook visibly. “that’s funny… i thought the same a…about you…”
This was a trick. Of course it was a trick. Stupid little prankster Kris. Fooled again. They’re toying with you now that they know you’re into them. You absolute idiot. Why did you give away your true feelings that easily? Now they’re just going to use it against you. Any moment now, Noelle is going to appear and they’re going to tell her all about how pathetic you are, and they-
Their arm wrapped around your waist. You were forced to look them in the eyes… the eyes that you could finally, finally see, and they were… red? Red? They were hauntingly red. It was mesmerising. You could stare into them for hours. You already found yourself carried away in them – you hadn’t even said anything in response to them. But as you lost yourself in their eyes, you finally realised that they, too, had lost themself in yours. You snapped free from your trance as they closed their eyes, but there was barely a second to breathe between that and them leaning their head forwards…
…to kiss you.
It was as if the world came to a stop as soon as their lips met yours. It was such a bold move from them, it shocked you that they even had the guts, as you sure did not. What was more shocking was the fact that they wanted this at all, or perhaps how they figured out that you wanted it too. Oh, and you wanted it bad.
You swung both your arms around the human, bringing your chest to theirs. A soft whimper on their part sent tingles down your spine. Was this heaven? You whined in appreciation. You nearly lost balance. All the things you could to them rushed through your head. You wanted more. You wanted all of it. You wanted all of Kris. You were still in shock that you were kissing them right now. Perhaps it was inevitable, but, knowing your luck, who knows.
You were beyond satisfied yet not satisfied enough. First thing on your mind was that you wanted to taste them. Seemed like that diner food didn’t quite fill you up after all. A gentle prod of your tongue to their lips signalled your wish to them. They returned, their tongue being the first to make entry, as it gently circled the tip of yours. You retaliated, shoving their tongue back into their mouth. They whimpered. So cute! You used your tongue to-
You yelped as they bit down on your tongue. Piece of shit. What a way to end the kiss, huh? The mischief never ends, as it would seem. You found that cute about Kris. They started giggling. You grunted.
“Did you seriously have to do that?”
“yeah.”
No shame. Typical Kris.
“by the way, my mom’s out for the day. you know. If you wanted to… come over.”
What a little shit, biting on your tongue like that then offering to take you home, it was so… romantic? It felt like there was nothing this person could do to push you away, it all just pulled you closer to them. Despite that, you took a step back, both of you needed the rest from that emotionally intense moment.
Oh, right – Kris asked you to… go home with them…
“Please,” you accepted.
They chuckled. Looks like both of you were well aware of how pathetic you were. You held their hand. They smiled, though avoiding eye contact. Cute cute cute cute cute! Everything about them was. The calling out of a voice caused them to let go as they jumped at the sound of it. You were hit with that familiar stench. Dess and Noelle approached the two of you from behind. Good thing you managed to sneak in all of that, uh, activity with Kris before they arrived. Good timing, too. You were quite embarrassed, despite it all.
“So, how’d it go?” Dess asked you. You weren’t sure what she meant.
“Huh? How did what go?” you were clueless.
Kris was cowering. They covered their eyes in embarrassment.
“I think you know…” Noelle teased.
“You need me to spell it out for ya?” Dess joined in. “You think Noelle got you those fries? You think Catti of all people got you the ice cream?”
“...What?” you were shocked. There was no way that Kris had seriously been that obvious this whole time.
“Lemme ask again,” Dess repeated. “How did it go?”
You imitated Kris’ expression, covering your face with your hands, cowering. She chuckled, moving towards Kris, who she then pinched the cheeks of in a teasing manner. They squeaked.
“Gosh, you two are so cute…” Noelle pointed out.
“Well, we’ll leave you to it,” Dess waved goodbye, still chuckling. Noelle couldn’t help but let out a giggle as the two left you alone.
You turned to Kris, they were devastated, still covering their face.
“why do i have to be so bad at hiding it…” you just barely heard them mumbling.
“You’re bad at hiding it?” You still couldn’t believe it. “No, no- I’m bad at hiding it, I, I like, was being so weird with you, and…”
You weren’t really quite sure what you were saying. Kris let their hands fall to their sides, staring at the ground.
“I don’t know, I just thought you were weird, probably, but you were just, like, into me?” You posed.
“i am weird, you idiot, just… also into you,” they corrected.
“Oh. Right,” you felt guilty making assumptions, however you were relieved knowing that they were into you and as weird as you initially thought. It made you want to get weird with them…
…that’s a good line.
“How about we, uh, get weird, then?”
You fucked up so badly. Or not, as Kris audibly squeaked. You couldn’t help but chuckle. You were overloaded by Kris’ sheer cuteness, you wanted to grab their cheeks and just shake them around… maybe they would like that, actually. Not risking it, though.
They geared up to respond to your (obviously very killer and charming and amazingly perfect) line, but the swooshing of water and sound of a strange and frankly annoying voice emerged from the lake. Both of your heads snapped to face that direction. You weren’t sure what was going on, and found yourself standing slightly closer to Kris, who seemed rather unbothered by the strange round monster rising out of the water.
“Hey! Lovebirds! Could you get a room!?” it screeched.
“oh… hey onion. how’s it… it uh… going.”
“Yeah! Better! Since those weird people stopped making rings out of my body…” Onion explained.
“great to hear…” Kris rather awkwardly affirmed. “we have, to, like, basically, we, uh. we’re going now.”
They snatched your hand, trying to escape the situation.
“Yeah! Okay… just… leave me alone… but I’ll still be here, y’hear! Whenever you… want me…” Onion depressingly wished goodbye as you and Kris walked off.
You noted that it was creepy how this Onion kept the exact same strange smile watching you as it descended back into the lake. Never coming back here.
“so that’s why the lake is not the place for romantic stuff,” Kris agreed. “nice lake, too. it’s a shame.”
You sighed, agreeing. Trees lined the path back to the road, Kris kept firm grasp of your hand as they walked you home. They kept their eyes facing forward, with you taking occasional glances at them. You reminisced when you could actually see their eyes, that specific shade of red burned into your mind. You were so desperate to see it again. You distracted yourself with conversation – it was productive, too, as it helped you get to know Kris better!
“So…” you started. “...the hell was up with that Birdly guy?”
You heard a slight chuckle from Kris. “he’s uh, something. he’s got a good heart, if you can… put up with all that.”
“So, was he like, genuine back there, or was it just, like, some weird joke?” You asked.
The two of you reached the paved road.
“he is a hundred percent serious. wild, i know,” Kris regretfully answered. “ugh… hate to think that he was right about us.”
Right about… us? About the two of you spending the night together? That’s… you blushed slightly, before distracting yourself once again.
“Y-Yeah, uh… I wasn’t too harsh on him, was I?” You remembered when you laughed in his face quite rudely.
“not at all. he deserved that,” Kris confirmed.
Absolutely amazing, because that was very embarrassing.
“you know, i… nevermind,” Kris was tempted to say something. You were curious, but did not want to probe.
You walked beside them, holding hands even, yet your mind was still plagued with them. So many urges… perhaps you could act on one of them? They made a right turn just before the gates to Noelle’s house. You saw an average-sized house in the distance. Now was your chance. You slowed down, as you and Kris walked at a rather fast pace, and as your hands were linked, they followed suit, though you were worried that they would simply let go and continue speeding, as they had done previously. Now at a slower pace, you turned to them. Their head did not turn, though if they simply pointed their eyes at you, you could not tell.
You leaned your head in… placing a gentle kiss on their cheek, before snapping back into your initial position, tilting your head slightly away from them. It sounded like their breath hitched, though you weren’t sure. Their grasp on your hand tightened and their walking pace slowed even further. You finally looked at them. Their head continued to face forward, however their cheeks gained a slight pinkness. Such a pretty blush, you thought… you wanted to turn their whole face red.
Another kiss- no. Too much right now. The door to what was presumably their house stood ominously in front of you. They let go of your hand to walk slightly forward and get the door for you. They just opened it right up, not pulling out any keys to unlock it or anything, which struck you as odd. They held the door open, letting you in first, how sweet. You checked the immediate area to the door for any shoe racks or similar, not knowing if this household was shoes-on or shoes-off. You realise that you don’t remember seeing a single monster wear shoes. Regardless, Kris did not take off their own shoes. They shut the door behind you.
“uh, welcome,” they said. “it’s like, nice, i guess. really quiet these days, though.” They stood next to the couch, having no idea how to properly welcome anyone to their home.
“Really? Like, how so?” you probed. “And uh, can I sit here?” you looked at the couch.
“oh, course-” Kris approved, taking their own seat, now resting rather loosely on the couch, their legs held up beside them rather than on the ground. “and, um- first dad left, and then my brother went to college, so… just me and mom now. and she’s working most of the time.”
You sat closely next to them. Very closely. You could smell their hair… was that an apple fragrance?
“You work at all?” You asked.
“i help my dad out a bit. he runs the flower shop,” they explained. “other than that, i don’t know. i don’t think i’m really… cut out for it…”
You noticed their gaze drift, and worried that you may have touched a sensitive topic. You wanted to comfort them. They seem very… comfortable.
“Uh… sorry, uh…” you awkwardly stuttered. “...hug?”
They leapt into your arms, pushing your head down and onto the seat of the couch, your legs lifting off the ground. Their head landed on your chest. Your breath hitched. They made a muffled grunt of sorts.
“I’ll take that as a yes…?” you checked. They nodded, their forehead rubbing against you.
Your left arm wrapped around their upper back while your right arm wrapped around their waist. Your right hand was so close to the hem of their shirt, it tempted you to slip it inside. You may have been making out barely half an hour ago, but it still seemed too soon for that. For now, you embraced them as they cooed into your chest.
“i needed this so much… thank you,” they appreciated.
You weren’t sure how to answer that. You held them tighter.
“you know, it was… really nice earlier, when you, uh, when… when you…” they mumbled.
“Hm?” you poked. “When I what?”
“...i liked when you pat my head,” they admitted.
“Is that a request?” You teased.
“y…yeah,” they confirmed.
You chuckled, bringing your left hand to their head, feeling their soft hair against your skin, repeating the motions that you used in the diner earlier. They cooed. You giggled in response. Every minute detail in their actions was a cuteness overload. You ran your fingers through their hair. Despite it being so messy, it was nearly knot-free. You adored the way it gently curled, spreading in all different ways around your chest. You felt something warm against your right hand…
…it had found its way under their shirt, though only slightly. Oops. That was not intentional. It was met with no objection from them, however. Skin so soft… you nearly got distracted from the task at hand. Very needy Kris… needing pats… like some kind of puppy… maybe they’d make a good puppy monster.
This whole time you hadn’t mentioned how unique their experience must be… the only human here, their whole life? You thought that perhaps it contributed to their weirdness, but wouldn’t it only be weird from a human perspective? They wouldn’t think of themself as weird if they were normal from a monster perspective… right, they’re not a monster. That makes sense now. You decided to remark about this.
“So… have you seriously been like, the only human in Hometown?” you probed.
“pretty much, yeah… is it like, weird, sorry-” they dismissively admitted. You ought to help their confidence in this.
“No, it’s like, really really cool!” you remarked. “You’re, like, basically a monster!”
They lifted their face up. Suddenly, they were teeming with affection. Something about what you said really improved their mood. You’re not sure if you might have just tapped into something a bit deeper than you should have… but regardless, the outcome was splendid. They teasingly poked their tongue at you.
“you think so?” They pled.
“Of course!” You affirmed.
They giggled, bringing their head closer to yours. You prepared for a tighter cuddle but were then flashbanged by a kiss to the side of your neck. More please, oh precious Kris TheyHaven’tSaidTheirLastNameYet. You whined in appreciation, hoping that it signalled them to continue. Please continue. You needed it now.
“that okay…?” They checked.
“Yes. Yes. Yes,” you affirmed.
“heh…” they chuckled slightly, before placing another kiss in the same spot.
Then another. And another. Your hand drifted off their head, distracted by this new creature known as Neck Kisses. They drifted upwards, now targeting the underside of your chin. Each peck felt like a small taze – and was that tongue you felt? You immersed yourself in the gentle caress of a lick that traced the height of your neck, from bottom to top. You mewled in appreciation. You felt their arms behind your back wrap tighter around you. They polished off their work with a final kiss to the bottom of the neck before resting their head next to it, their breath ever so slightly massaging it.
“Thank… you…” you managed to let out of your vocal cords with a hasty breath.
You found your hand further up their shirt, now feeling the middle of their back. Shit, you keep doing that without realising… or maybe… you start scratching, drawing small circles around the area your hand rested. You were almost distracted by the teasing prod of a tongue on your neck, which seemed a move just to gauge a reaction…
…what if their mother walks in on you two?
“What if your mom walks in on us…?” you needed to make sure.
“she… i mean, she’ll be fine, but it is hard for her to comprehend sometimes, that i’m, like, not her little baby anymore…” they explained.
“So, should or shouldn’t we make sure that she doesn’t?” You elaborated.
“to be safe, yeah, but if she does, it’s not a big deal,” they cleared up.
“Neat,” you were satisfied – though still craving satisfaction in other ways.
As their scent permeated your senses, you closed your eyes. Their nose poked at your nape, their soft and gentle breath curving along it. Your breaths grew sparser, and your hand movements slowed to a stop. The two of you comfortably rested on the couch, remaining motionless. Warmth echoed throughout your body, like a wave that swooped in and took you back with it, now drifting away into the open ocean, as you faced the stars.

You woke up as- fuck. You woke up? Damn it. Well, guess you better be quick to ring- you left your phone at Noelle’s house. Fuck. Your family must have no idea where you are, and you don’t even remember the way back, or if-
“oh, damn. i fell asleep,” Kris nonchalantly stated, reaching for their phone from their pocket as they adjusted their position, unfortunately parting ways with your cuddle.
“S- Same,” you uttered.
“got a text from mom and a missed call… looks like-” Kris began, before you interrupted them.
“You got Noelle’s number?” You asked, frantically. “I don’t think my family knows I’m here-”
“yeah, gimme a sec,” they put the phone to their ear, before lowering it and enabling speakerphone. You waited rather impatiently.
“Heyyy, Kris!~” Noelle greeted in a rather flirty tone. “You two having fun?”
Kris sighed. “yeah, it’s- it’s nice… look, we just, wanted to make sure someone let the others know who’s staying with me.”
“Oh! We told them as soon as we got back, faha…” Noelle confirmed. “D- Don’t worry, though! They don’t know about the, um, rest, just that you’re spending the night together-”
“that’s- that’s so fucking obvious, noelle, they-” Kris spoke with a bit more emotion in their voice than was typical. “ugh, as long as they’re ok with it.”
“You’re both adults, Kris,” Noelle put rather bluntly. “They’re fine with it. If they weren’t, well… that’s their problem, right?”
Kris turned to you. “i mean… you seem… like you didn’t exactly go to hometown by choice, either…”
You shrugged.
“...i don’t know. whatever. glad it’s all fine,” they concluded, speaking into the phone again.
“Great! Now, um, have fun, you two!” Noelle ended the call.
Kris turned to you again. “everything ok?”
“Oh, no, it’s- that’s great,” you stuttered slightly, affirming them. “That’s- sounds amazing, I… left my phone at hers, so, thank you so much for calling, it means a lot to me.”
“yeah, yeah,” they teased. “no worries… cutie…”
Did they just… shit, we’re at the name-calling stage. You need to think up something ten times more flustering, and quick, before the effect starts to set in, and- you tensed up, blushing. Kris thinks you’re a cutie? You’re cute? Impossible… too much… you tensed further, bringing your hands to your chest. You could feel your heart beating faster. You had to retaliate.
“S- Shut up!” you attempted. “You’re cuter!”
“nuh uh,” they pouted. “factually incorrect.”
You were too tired for this.
“I’m too tired for this…” you politely informed Kris.
“should we go upstairs?” They suggested. You nodded.
They held your hand, you awkwardly looked away as they helped you off the couch. Where did this confidence come from? You noticed that their gloves had been taken off. They glanced a smile at you as they began walking slowly. Their eyes beckoned to you from behind their bangs. You just had to see them again. They walked up the stairs almost a bit too fast for you. You’re still embarrassed that you drifted off earlier… though it’s not your fault that Kris is just so… so… warm and comfortable…
In what felt like the blink of an eye, you were sitting next to Kris on their bed, one of two twin beds which they presumably shared with their brother that they mentioned. The room was rather barebones, barring the opposite corner of the room which was home to an assortment of trophies, awards, posters, and other decor.
That was not Kris’ side of the room. You looked at Kris, who was failing to stare back at you as blankly as they usually do. You thought about how much more they deserved than to stare at someone else’s achievements every night… while mostly thinking about how much you wanted to kiss them again. You already kissed them enough, you greedy fuck… will you ever be satisfied? Of course not.
How have you two not even exchanged any words? Just looking at each other? They were rather fun to look at. Mesmerising… would be even more fun if you could see their eyes. Even without seeing the eyes, you felt their gaze. They could see you? Embarrassing!!! You must look so stupid right now. Why do they like looking at you so much? Maybe they weren’t looking… you couldn’t tell, after all, not behind those bangs. Cute bangs. But even cuter eyes. Red eyes. Imagine if they were looking at you…
…you reached your hand out, slowly, and slid it under their bangs, lifting them just enough to see the eyes. They were staring directly into yours. You nearly screamed, jolting backwards as you pulled your hand away. Those eyes… their gaze was deadly. No wonder they wore bangs – if it weren’t for those, they would have turned half of Hometown to stone like Medusa. Those eyes were dangerous. They were petrifying. Worth it.
They scoffed at your reaction, though blushing. You should just kiss them already. They lifted their bangs up on their own, still staring into your eyes. You gasped. Again, mesmerising. You still couldn’t believe that their eyes were red. It had to be one of their most unique features… as if their entire body wasn’t unique. You wanted to explore it. What else were they hiding which could make you feel like this? Their stare remained blank, those eyes barely blinking, wide open as they put you in your place. It felt as if that alone could make you pass out.
Retaliation time.
You snatched their arm which held their hair up, using it to throw them backwards onto the bed, leaning to the side to lay along its length. They squeaked. You climbed onto them, shifting their legs onto the bed as you did so, still holding their arm above their head which turned to the side, embarrassed to face you.
“This is payback for earlier,” you stated, before quietly asking, “This alright?”
They nodded, before attempting to free themself with their other hand, which you snatched in time to add to your hand collection and keep them locked in place. They squirmed, whining.
“Sorry~” you teased. “This is just what you get…”
You felt like you were being so cringy right now, but their reactions were too cute for you to care. Time to kiss this Kris in all the ways they did to mess with you – perhaps they could learn a thing or two about not dishing out what they can’t take. You lowered your torso, bringing your head closer to theirs. Finally, you could do this at your own discretion. You had to avoid the allure of feeling their breath against you – it had put you to sleep before, and it sure as hell could do so again. You brought your lips to their neck, but made no action, allowing them to feel your breath as you did theirs. If they could fall asleep, then… okay, they haven’t agreed to anything like that, but it would still serve as payback. Though, you guess they did also fall asleep earlier. Whatever. It’s not supposed to make sense! It’s supposed to be hot!
You had so much to do… but you had to get one thing out of the way.
“Hey, Kris…” you whispered into their ear. “...if i go too far, tell me to stop, okay?”
They nodded. Time for business.
You immediately began to pepper the left side of their neck with kisses, getting as much coverage as you could manage. You started to swap out kisses for licks, some gently tracing up and down with the tip of your tongue, others being larger laps carried out by the wider part of your tongue. They reacted positively, a mixture of whines, squeaks, and soft moans echoing throughout the room.
You felt their hands relax – was this an admissal of defeat or part of a plan to trick you? Of course it was a trick. Luckily for you, they just made it as easy as ever to move their hands to whatever position is most convenient for keeping them at their toes, barely able to move. Just to double check that they won’t try anything funny…
…you bit their neck. Softly at first, though not slowly by any means. You signalled to them what was at stake. You did not consider the possibility that you just gave them what they wanted more than anything. They squirmed and struggled against your grasp, trying to throw their head around. You thought they knew better than to try escaping their own karma. You bit harder, bunching up a larger mound of skin from their neck and firmly clamping down on it. Their breath hitched as they moaned, their movements being brought to a halt, finally giving in to your “payback”. You let go of their neck and relaxed your grasp. You brought your head back, finally able to see their face again, now able to spot a reddish-purple mark that you left on their neck. You watched as their frantic panting turned to slow, deep breaths. They faced you, looking into your eyes again.
“You like that…?” you patiently asked.
“fuck, I love that…” they answered.
“There’s a uh, mark, is that… okay?”
“that’s fine, really… kinda like it”
“Kinda?”
“okay, okay- i like it a lot.”
“There you go.”
Their face had broken its blankness a long time ago, now shifting through a myriad of expressions which screamed a mixture of embarrassed, flustered, and horny… fuck it. You went for the kiss, not giving any warning beforehand, simply pushing yourself forward and into their lips. They gasped, but of course fell straight into the kiss with no objection. You knew they could do it! You were so proud…
…until they suddenly reinitiated their resistance, grabbing onto the hands which you had relaxed, using them to push you backwards and completely swapping positions with you. Damn it… you know it was too good to be true… but you were even now! Whatever they do from here is them instigating it now! Clearly- okay, okay. None of that actually means anything, it’s just fun excuses to do fun stuff with this cute and pretty human that you just met… only human in a monster town… one of a kind, really, and they were- fuck, they were really going at it now, having not even broken the kiss, going absolutely wild with their tongue inside your mouth as they traced along the side of your face and neck with a finger. They might have just won this… what an honour. Their hair fell out of the way, allowing you to stare into their eyes once more, and instead of an intimidating, petrifying effect, it had a… calming effect? The sudden movements of their tongue kept you on your toes, counterbalanced by the soothing gaze of their red eyes, ever so close now. You struggled to keep your eyes open – you so desperately wanted to keep staring into their eyes but found it increasingly difficult as they lulled you. You gave in, closing your eyes, though in an action too intense to fall asleep again.
Surprisingly, they broke the kiss. Peeking your eyes open, you could see that they were taking a moment to appreciate you in your relaxed state. They smirked, an expression that slowly shifted to a grin. They loved seeing you like this, as you did them – their face bringing so much joy as it finally lifted from its deadpan default state. You had no will to fight back, and they understood this perfectly as they let go of your hands to put them to better use. Their hands drifted lower and lower… exactly how low are they- oh. Oh.
They slowly, methodically, somewhat teasingly slid a hand underneath your top, grasping it and pulling it upwards while they read your face. You nodded. You felt the cold breath of the air around you as it reached your newly exposed chest. You watched their grin strengthen as they eyed you up, and- did they just lick their lips? It intimidated you. Their red eyes, just barely visible, gazed lovingly at your torso. Their head and hands drifted down, you held your upper body up with an elbow as to better view Kris’ antics. You watched their head slowly lower onto your midriff, seeing the exact moment that they landed a kiss which had you gripping onto the sheets, if only for a moment.
They looked up at you. Eyes were not visible, but the face they pulled was so teasing that it nearly angered you. Naturally, you couldn’t get mad at that pretty face. Or body. Or. Person. All of them. And at that moment, they had all of you.
Another kiss to the stomach. Electrifying. A firm grasp of your waist. It’s like they were saying ‘gotcha!’. Their silence was all the more intimidating, it kept you guessing at their every move, but they were never quite as predictable as they seemed. You moaned with a kiss to the hip, one that they lowered your clothes in order to reach, their hand keeping a firm grasp on it, fingers slipping ever so slightly underneath adding to the tension. You used your hand to reach the opposite side to where they grasped, assisting them by pulling it down for them. They let go, watching ever so eagerly, bringing their hands to their chest and curling them into fists, jokingly and teasingly panting like a dog. It was enough to ease the embarrassment of… well… taking your pants off.
It was all out in the open now. Kris stopped panting, but still acted rather dog-like as they approached it, sniffing it, whining. Needy puppy… you pat their head. They stuck their tongue out. Fuck. Stop being so cute. Not when you have that out… you realise that they’re probably waiting for the go-ahead…
…what an obedient puppy!
“Y…You can go for it!” you found it difficult to break the silence. “P…Puppy…”
It was a gamble, but a calculated one which immediately paid off. That last word sparked something in them and they swooped down, nuzzling into it like it was their precious toy, still sniffing. You let out a chuckle as you remembered that dogs sniffing crotches is way too accurate here. You flinched as they rubbed against it, embarrassed that this was all happening so soon, a feeling that only grew stronger as they began to gently lick with their tongue in a slow, vertical motion that sent shivers down your spine and pleasure through your – that. Your hand still on their head, you couldn’t hold back a moan. Kris kept their pace steady, holding onto your thighs. The inability to see their eyes made the anticipation of their next moves all the more nervewracking.
They finally peeped a word from that precious mouth. “delicious.”
A compliment? You tilted your head to the side, covering your mouth. “You… think so?”
“mmn,” they mumbled, nodding, a motion which created more friction down there. Your breath hitched as you rewarded them with a gentle head scratch, which they embraced as they began trailing kisses along it. You whined. They whined back, sniffling and snorting – definitely doing a dog thing there. Small bursts of pleasure trickled through as their motions involved more prodding and squishing. Their hands moved from your thighs to your hips. They moved their lips to meet the top of your bits, swirling their tongue around it. You couldn’t help but mewl in pleasure, gripping firmly onto their hair for support. You couldn’t let their work go unappreciated.
“Gh… Good… puppy,” you uttered.
Just feeling their tongue rubbing against you in that way was enough to keep you pinned to the bed, desperate for it never to end. They wrapped their lips around it, gently suckling. That move nearly destroyed you. They moved their head downwards, and you felt as their tongue covered more and more of your surface area, reaching an end point that had you arching your back and moaning before feeling their tongue retreat, the motion creating more pleasure than how deep anything went. You bucked your hips by instinct, begging for more. They held back for a few seconds. They seemed proud of their work. You caught a glimpse of their eyes.
“good?” They checked.
You nodded.
“more?” They seemed to ask out of their own wishes.
“Please,” you begged. They chuckled.
Eye contact was severed as yours were forced shut by the sudden burst of pleasure as they resumed their work, feeling it go deeper then back out again, repeating this motion at a pace that kept you on edge. Perhaps just a bit more and you’d be brought to climax. In, out, in, out, feeling their tongue against you at all points along the way – as long as this contact stays, you know that you can make it through. Getting closer now… your breath grew heavy, and your moans louder, somewhat whinier. It clearly took some energy for them too, as you felt their breath trickle along your crotch. They looked so pretty from here.
“H-Heads up, I-I’m… l- like…” you warned.
“mmn,” they mumbled, assuring you.
You let go of any hesitance you may have had, and soon after you reached your climax, letting out a squeal as your cum poured straight into Kris’ mouth, and appeared a substance that they were eager to taste, lapping at you with their tongue to collect all of it, with an increase in speed that combined with the increase in sensitivity to bring an even louder moan out of you. You felt their head rest on your crotch as the intensity subsided, allowing you to take deep breaths. You opened your eyes, seeing a blush on their face as they looked up towards you. They were smiling – it infected your mind, you just had to keep that smile going. What could make them smile… they had already drained most of your energy, perhaps it was some ploy of theirs to keep you at bay. Looking at their expression, and how they started to crawl onto you, you had no choice but to entertain this thought. Their face now showed more of a smirk than a smile as they hovered above you. Their hair formed a tunnel between both of your faces. You noticed some residue by their lips but neglected to comment on it as their eyes caught yours. Trapped in their gaze once more. A teasing point of the tongue as their hand traced from your chest to your crotch, you tensed up as it passed your stomach, their smirk growing stronger, eyes opening wider. Their stare was intimidating, oppressive, one could say psychopathic. It felt like you had just handed yourself over to a serial killer, and they were about to murder you… sexually!
Their smirk turned to a grin, ever so slightly showing their teeth. You kept your gaze, though flinching as they used two fingers to rub you down there. You felt embarrassed as you remembered your previous wishes to explore them top to bottom – now you lay there, shirtless, pinned to the bed not by an arm or a leg but by their gaze. You wondered if they really were human after all, though thoughts slipped away as they rubbed harder. You cooed.
“...you’re so fucking pretty,” they said out of nowhere.
You… did not know what to say to that. Thank you? You guess? No…
“you know what the p in pretty stands for?” they teased.
You shook your head, still speechless.
“payback.”
What are they even paying you back for? If anything, you should be getting them back for their… exceptional work between your legs. They kept rubbing gently as their head swooped down to the side of your neck, and before you could think, they had already sunk their teeth into you. Their other hand held your head in place, tilting it to grant themself easier access. At this point it almost seemed that vampire was the answer to the question of them being human or not. Neck biting? Discoloured eyes that froze you in place? A haunting, bloodthirsty grin? Being so incredibly hot? Sounds awfully like a vampire! You could almost feel them drawing blood. You moaned as they retreated to their previous position, their face now covered in- blood?!
You gasped in disbelief. “Are you a vampire??”
They chuckled. “i have a nosebleed… chill out.”
Okay – you were in over your head. Kris isn’t a vampire – vampires are just like Kris… no, that doesn’t make sense. Stupid Kris, making your brain go all stupid, cause they’re so stupid… stupid pretty! You lay frozen in place as Kris lifted themself off the bed to search for tissues. The image of their blood-covered face with psychopath eyes lived rent free in your head. They sat by your legs as they held a tissue to their nose. You propped yourself up and sat next to them, they rested their head on your shoulder.
“This happen often?” you asked.
“...somewhat,” they answered rather vaguely. You pat their head.
“you seemed pretty scared back there…” Kris noted. “...guess i am quite the monster, huh?”
The two of you giggled simultaneously. Seeing them like this reminded you of your goal – explore that human. For now, you had to wait patiently before you could have your way. Such an excruciating wait, but it wasn’t so bad if it was spent with Kris.
…you grew impatient.
“How… long do you think you’ll be?” you somewhat awkwardly asked. A decent few minutes had passed, however.
“oh, it was over like, two minutes ago,” they admitted. “i was just testing your patience.”
That teasing bitch!
“so, like… conclusion, you’re needy as hell,” they insulted playfully.
You had to think of a comeback fast, and you think that you might just have it.
“Yeah- I’ll show you needy,” you threatened, your hand which was patting their head slipping to grasp their shoulder, ready to push them back and pin them down at a moment’s notice.
Surprisingly, it worked. You listened as Kris’ entire intimidating act up until now escaped through a squeal so soft yet so intense that it was almost contagious. To them, it was the sound of defeat. To you, it was your cue to start.
You placed your free hand around their other shoulder, now in perfect form to swiftly push them down and back onto the bed, red slowly creeping into their face. You let go, and they rather obediently kept in place, even lifting their arms up as you brought yours down to finally lift that sweater of theirs off. You were beyond ready to get as close as possible to their yellow skin which you had seen so little of until now. You slid the sweater off, watching their true figure slowly reveal itself to you, gentle curves lining their torso, their chest home to two rather adorable little breasts.
“...Precious,” you let slip out of your mouth.
Kris squeaked. You covered your mouth to hide the ever-growing embarrassing smile on your face caused by the sight of their shirtless body. Though, Kris didn’t hide their own grin from you when they saw you in the same light. Perhaps it was only fair… no, too embarrassing. They wouldn’t be able to see it if you kissed them… yes, a perfect plan it was. You uncovered your mouth and swooped in to bring a kiss to their lips, tasting a bit of blood as you made contact. They didn’t seem to react much to your entry, surprisingly, however they very much reacted as you slipped a hand down their pants. You broke the kiss to ensure that there was nothing they were trying to say here – alas, just moans. Pretty moans. Soft, tender moans that massaged your eardrums, like they were an instrument that played as you traced circles around their clit. They moved a hand to their mouth, though not quite covering it. You used your free hand to move their bangs out of the way. Their eyes were fixed shut as they bit their bottom lip, whining.
“You sound so nice…” you complimented.
They shook their head. This angered you. You used your free hand to snatch their face by the cheeks, moving your other hand slightly further down to slip a finger inside.
“You disagree, huh?” you threatened.
They nodded. You slid a second finger inside, gently stirring. Their moans grew louder and breathier. You brought a kiss to their jawline as you paused your movements down there.
“You sound beautiful,” you insisted. “Don’t put yourself down, okay, Kris?”
“fine-” they submitted. “but only if you admit that you sound pretty fucking cute, too.”
No you don’t! You sound horrible, like, not even nice to listen to normally, no way someone could appreciate your moans! At least, that’s what you thought. Looks like you’ll have to give in to this one, just for Kris.
“...Fine,” you agreed. They scoffed.
“cute-” they were pushing it. That’s too far. You instantly resumed your movements, with the addition of your thumb pressing into their clit. They gasped loudly, before continuing to tease.
“hnngh… pretty.”
Only one way to shut them up. You forced yours and their lips together once more, them bringing their hand to the back of your head, meeting it with a gentle scratch. Their embrace lulled you. Nothing you could do was able to truly overpower them – they either played into your delusions or they put you in your place.
At first, you thought that you had fallen for Kris… but now you realise that the only thing you ever fell for was their tricks. Oh, Kris – sneaky, shifty, Kris, that little dipshit… they had you wrapped right around their finger, and that was despite the two or three that remained inside them.
The two of you gasped as the turn of a doorknob caught both of you off guard. Kris snatched the bedsheets, covering both of you to your (rather bruised up) necks, the unit of you and Kris rotating ninety degrees. At the door, a larger, goat-looking monster entered the room, though not quite as large as Asgore, speaking to Kris in a soft, motherly voice.
“Evening, Kris! You know, I heard…”
Her eyes snapped wide open in shock. There was no hiding what you two were doing – the sheet was only to keep the goods out of sight.
She stuttered. “Wh…Kris, who’s this…?”
Kris turned to you, trembling.
“so…”
“...like…”
“...what was your name, again?”
