It is seven months before the events of Iron Lung.
You are a C.O.I convict, serving two years' penance for a petty crime. After an outbreak in your already over-cramped prison, you are forced to relocate to a new holding cell on the ship. The only issue is that this cell is already inhabited.
Your new cellmate is known only as the Convict. A Brother of Eden, and a butcher of men. He is everything you’ve been raised to hate, and you are everything he was raised to despise. However, in such close and heated proximity, you quickly realize that human nature has little concern for factions or sides.
Through a series of events leading up to his final day, the man once known as Simon is forced to explore his traumatic past, his conflicted present, and the future he yearns to be worthy of, as you both navigate a difficult and untenable relationship.
In a dying world, you must hold on to anything. Even if it hurts you.

Hiiiii I'm back lolYa'll know the meds are working because I saw Iron Lung three god damn times this week and wrote 10,000 words in three days. I will try not to let this one go on too long, but I'm excited. Feels so, so good to be writing again.
For the lore, I'm using the game and the film. I actually took notes the last time I went to see it, so I wouldn't miss anything. However, as we all know, a lot of worldbuilding is left ambiguous (and for good reason), so I will be adding some aspects to the world that I think make sense. A lot of this will be my interpretation of Eden and the C.O.I based on what we're given, (e.g the religious connotations with Eden, Simon's dialogue about death, Ava's desire for humanity to survive and strict adherence to sacrifice over personal autonomy, mentions of Simon's mother and his guilt, ext.)
If there is lore I've explicitly missed, do let me know, but I've done what I can and developed it where I could. So I just hope y'all enjoy!
