Chapter Text
It was quiet.
1x1x1x1 stood upon the main pillar of an empty server of The Heights, silently looking into the distance. There were no sharp sounds of swords clanking against each other or agony filled screams of the newly fallen, just quiet. In the past, 1x1x1x1 would have been irritated by the lack of noise, but right now he couldn't bring himself to hate it. He rarely ever felt hate anymore after Telamon died.
It had been years since Telamon had fallen by 1x1x1x1’s own blades, days of non-stop battle only to end with a Daemonshank through the admins chest. 1x1x1x1 had expected to feel relief, satisfaction, a sweet sort of hatred at seeing the god take his final breaths right in front of him, yet nothing could have prepared him to feel nothing. Telamon's death didn’t bring him the peace he so desperately had craved, it brought him nothing.
His death was strangely peaceful, something that filled 1x1x1x1 with faint disgust every time he thought of it. Telamon didn’t deserve a peaceful end. He deserved thousands of years of torture before being granted the sweet release of death. Yet that didn’t happen. Telamon did not scream when 1x1x1x1’s sword sliced through his heart, not even a whimper. He just stared at 1x1x1x1 like a deer in headlights and then… passed. No words of hate, no pleads for mercy, just a final ragged breath before slumping over.
After that, since 1x1x1x1 was technically Telamon's next of kin, he took over Telamon’s role as ruler of The Heights and his title as an admin. There was no celebration, quite the opposite actually. Robloxians shook in terror, admins stared at him in a mix of horror and disgust, not even 1x1x1x1 felt happy about that arrangement. Becoming exactly what Telamon was revolted him, yet he accepted the role for reasons even he did not know.
He didn’t change much about The Heights. As much as Telamon was a shitty father, he was an amazing ruler and admin. He wasn’t always fair, but he wasn’t one of the most praised admins for nothing. All 1x1x1x1 has done so far was fix some bugs and make the gameplay more just, that’s it. He was never taught how to be an admin, he was never taught a lot of things. Telamon was too busy teaching him how to sword fight than how to be a human being.
He wasn’t very well received at the Roblox Headquarters either. The admins never wanted to interact with him in any way, shape or form. Dusekkar never looked 1x1x1x1 in the eyes, Doombringer always lost his temper around him, and Builderman tried his best to exclude 1x1x1x1 from any meetings or events. They all looked at him with so much hatred, and 1x1x1x1 couldn't blame them for that. Despite Telamon being a horrible person to 1x1x1x1, he knew that wasn’t the case with everyone. Telamon was extremely close to the admins, those three especially, so 1x1x1x1 would have been a fool if he expected them to just get over his death.
He was brought back to reality by the soft tweets of a bird looking right at him. 1x1x1x1 stared back, both being locked in an intense staring contest before the bird took flight, causing 1x1x1x1 to flinch ever so slightly at the sudden movement. The bird was beautiful, a house finch with a warm crimson coloration on its chest and a fuzzy brown body, the bird being so small 1x1x1x1 could probably crush its little body using just one hand. The bird circled around 1x1x1x1’s head for a few moments before flying off into the distance. 1x1x1x1 blinked as he watched the bird fly away, wondering momentarily where the bird might be going.
1x1x1x1 walked towards the edge of the pillar and stared down at the clouds circling the bottom. If this were a public server, he would have seen the faint lights of Robloxia city and maybe even heard the sounds of cars driving past, that is if the sounds of swords clattering against each other didn’t muffle it. Yet since this was a private server, Telamon’s private server, he wouldn't be able to see such things no matter how hard he tried.
Admins with domains usually always had a private server where they resided, and Telamon was no different. The server still looked like The Heights, however sported many great changes that made it different to any other server. The main difference was the huge temple where Telamon used to live and 1x1x1x1 grew up in, a grand structure with a lovely garden surrounding it, however the garden has been quite a mess ever since 1x1x1x1 took charge. The temple was mostly white with golden accents and great stone statues of Telamon himself at the entrance, statues that have now been reduced to stone stumps on the ground after one of 1x1x1x1’s small tantrums.
As much as 1x1x1x1 wanted to despise everything Telamon created, he had to admit that the temple was truly a work of art. Weirdly enough, the inside of the temple wasn’t nearly as grand, still royally decorated of course, but many of the rooms resembled any other home in Robloxia. A normal kitchen, normal bedrooms, hell even a normal living room. It seemed like a great place for a family to live, a shame that Telamon never considered 1x1x1x1 as family.
1x1x1x1’s eyes slightly narrowed at that thought, quickly shooing it away and as he made his way into the temple. There were never any maids or servants walking around the halls, and yet there wasn’t a single speck of dust anywhere. Whenever there was someone in the server, it was almost always one of 1x1x1x1’s minions or a very rare visit from an admin, usually Dusekkar. The pumpkin headed mage still very obviously loathed him, however 1x1x1x1 could tell that out of all the admins, Dusekkar hated him the least.
Right now there was no other person in the server except 1x1x1x1, and he was fine with that. It wasn’t like he was not used to isolation. A thousand years trapped in the banlands does that to a person. 1x1x1x1’s body shuttered at the reminder of his time in the banlands, the years when agony and despair was all he knew. At least that was in the past now, he would never have to go through that again. Hopefully.
1x1x1x1 stopped walking and suddenly hunched over as a sharp pain spread along his back, leaning against the wall before slowly composing himself. He frowned, this pain had been going on for a long time, coming back in stabbing bursts of agony before fading into a dull ache. It started somewhere three years ago, getting worse and worse each time the pain returned.
Back then, 1x1x1x1 simply brushed it off, chalking it up to his age before going back to doing whatever the hell he was doing before. 1x1x1x1 isn’t ignoring it anymore, but what is he going to do? Normal robloxian hospitals aren’t built to help a being like him, and the other admins surely wouldn’t give a fuck, in fact they might even be happy that he is in pain.
1x1x1x1 released a deep sigh before continuing to walk towards his room. A bit of pain isn't going to stop him, he is 1x1x1x1 for god’s sake! He had survived brutal sword fights, torture most robloxians couldn’t even fathom, even a fight to the death against an actual god. Yeah, back pain isn’t going to be what defeats him. He would just tough it out like he always does. 1x1x1x1 huffed as he walked into his room and stepped inside, slamming the door behind him and leaving the server in silence once more.
It was quiet.
