Summary
Wolfwood has long since come to terms with the fact that there is no god. There is simply no other explanation for the atrocities he is subjected to day in and day out. The Bible passages the preacher used to share at the orphanage may as well have been fairytales for all the relevance they’ve had to his short and miserable life. That is until the good begins to reveal itself to him. And once he begins seeing it, he can’t look away.
Maybe there’s more to this life than he thought.

Nico meets Vash while being experimented on by the Eye of Michael. Vash has more freedom to roam, but Nico quickly realizes that Vash is just as much a prisoner of Knives as he is. Nico gradually befriends him and Vash organizes their escape. Somewhat open-ended with them on the run, but happy to be together again with an optimistic tone
