Summary
When the White King discovers that the Red Queendom intends to assassinate his only daughter, he trusts Jest to act as the princess' guard. The White Queen does not want her daughter to feel frightened, so she suggests Jest court the princess and attribute his proximity to her as affection rather than a means of protection (she's giddy to see them get along!). When Jest hesitates to agree to this arrangement, the White Queen makes this promise: if he marries Princess Lily, he can leave his Rook duties behind him.
But what if the princess knew how to protect herself? Jest's mind races: with a new Queen, they could end the war. With the war over, he could live a life of ease... the life he’s always wanted. And without having to marry a stranger.
Jest's life may have ended in the land of Hearts, but this is his life as a Rook (and jester?) in Chess.!!! The story is finished! New chapters drop Tuesday and Friday! !!!
