AU, set after BOTFA, no-one dies because damn. I honestly can’t cope with it. The book destroyed me as a child; the film destroys me as an adult every single time. As a result, all Durin’s are miraculously! undead! – although a bit bashed about in various ways – and are all going to live long, happy and productive lives. Bite me. This is unapologetic, tooth rotting schmoop becuase the world is a place where, quite honestly, a dose of schmoop is a necessary counterpoint to the daily bitterness we all get force-fed.

Summary

After listening to Richard Armitage's reading of that beautiful poem, and taking the time to watch the recent Geminids meteor shower. I was hit with a burst of inspiration to write a sappy little something for 'The Happy Hobbit Holiday 2018 Event' involving this... or the Middle Earth equivalent anyway... and our favourite boys.

Everything in the Great Hall suddenly seemed louder, almost suffocating. A cold tension swept through Bilbo’s body as the idea tried to take hold. Thorin? Marriage? To whom?

Summary
Bilbo flees after the Battle of the Five Armies, convinced that Thorin wants his head. Whispers of a small creature leaving the camp eventually reaches the Company, but after so long, who knows if Bilbo made it all the way home?
“A burglar might steal a kiss. Or two.
It was quite proper behaviour, really. He would be careful not to do it where anyone could see, of course – no need to cause a scandal. Bilbo would be very, very discreet before he went back to the Shire to nurse his broken heart. He was going to be heartbroken when he went back anyway, so he may as well enjoy himself for now.
Thorin was sure to tell him if he stepped out of line, so it was foolproof, really.
Nothing could possibly go wrong.”

Ed stares down at his hands wrapped around the edge of the examination table, a spider and a snake smiling up at him, and ponders how he got here.
Completely objectively, Stede is a little fucked up about sex. Ed loves him, would never judge him for any of his ideas. Even if some of them are a little silly at times. And, fuck, Ed is fucked up about sex. He doesn’t know how to level his past with his current attitudes when it comes to sex. Wanting to get hurt, wanting to be hurt. He’s never figured out how to rationalize it. Especially when it comes to sex with Stede, who should by all accounts be soft and gentle in their bedroom. Stede, who is a little fucked up about sex.
