Summary
The process of falling in love is a complicated thing. It’s different for everyone, varying from person to person and their circumstances. With Kara, she fell for Lena slowly, gradually. With Lena, she fell for Kara swiftly, precipitously. Granted, they ended up in the same place, but the journey wasn’t an entirely pleasant one...
This is the story of how Lena Luthor and Kara Danvers fell in love and realized it, then tumbled into bed together.

Tbh, this was originally meant to only be a short one-shot, but it blew up into this long, [imo] proper retelling of two idiots in love.

“Hi, Sam,” Kara greeted brightly with a large smile. In the short time she’d known Sam Arias, she’d genuinely gotten to like her. She was fun, witty, very laidback and, aside from being friends with Andrea, seemed to have a really good ability to read people. She turned her eyes to Lena. “Hi. I just wanted to introduce myself; I’m Kara Danvers.”
She extended her free hand out for Lena to shake, as if that was a normal thing for high school girls to do. Lena’s eyes flitted down to the hand then back up to Kara’s face and she bit back a smirk.
“Oh, I know exactly who you are, Miss Danvers,” she replied.
Kara wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing.
Or: Kara's a high school basketball star who transfers to National City Prep for her junior year. Along the way, she makes friends and enemies, and (of course) meets Lena Luthor.

“Kara, no,” Alex said as she whipped her head around.
“Kara, YES!” she cried out in reply, before checking with Lena. “Can I, babe? Please?”

Summary
The truth is: Kara’s life, Kara’s world doesn’t function correctly without Lena. She doesn’t (can’t) vocalize that to Alex (or anyone), but it’s there in the back of her mind, on constant replay. It’s the driving force of both her anxiety and her desperation to find Lena.
