Summary
“Why?” Feng Xin asked, his gaze lingering on Mu Qing’s face as the other god raised his head and met his stare head on.
His eyes were swimming with an intense emotion as he gazed at Feng Xin. It overtook his stare, shining brightly as his face followed along to mirror it. It was an emotion that was slowly becoming more and more familiar to Feng Xin the longer he looked at Mu Qing.
Mu Qing chuckled lightly, his weight dropping onto Feng Xin who still held him by the arm as he burrowed his face in Feng Xin’s shoulder, “You already know why.”
It took Mu Qing 800 years to admit to himself that he loved Feng Xin. It took Feng Xin 800 years to find that out and open his heart again.

“But why?” Pei Ming asked.
“Because!” Mu Qing spat, bristling.
“Because why?” Pei Ming insisted.
“Because he’s been avoiding me!” Mu Qing blurted.
Or: Mu Qing might be a little in love with Feng Xin, and maybe Feng Xin's a little in love with Mu Qing too, but they're both a lot too stupid to realize it.
