Summary
For the sake of the story, All Might is never in need of a successor, and, when Izuku saves Katsuki from the sludge monster, encourages young Midoriya down a different path. Thus, Katsuki and Izuku part ways after junior high, as Katsuki enters U.A. and the Midoriyas move overseas. It’s later that Katsuki realizes that there’s something missing, that he drove that something away.
Years after, Katsuki finds him in the last place he looks, in the cereal aisle at the local grocery store of their childhood neighborhood.

Summary
Katsuki is captivated by the sight of Izuku, watching as throws his head back and laughs.
That smile feels a bit too much like light. Like warmth. Like true, actual healing.
Inside his own chest, everything burns as his heart pounds so hard, it feels like it’s trying to escape his ribcage. He places his hand over where it beats.
Take it easy, Katsuki tries to tell himself, just like the doctors did. Even though he knows this has been a losing battle for some time now.

Summary
Deku’s bedroom’s about the same as Katsuki imagined it. He perches on the edge of the absurdly soft bed, trying not to think about Aunty Inko staring at him like he had two heads. "Why’d you come, Kacchan? Is everything okay?”
“I’m sorry,” Katsuki says without preamble. Just like he rehearsed on the way over here. “I’ve been an asshole for most of our lives and you didn’t deserve that.”
“I, uhm –”
“You’re way too fucking sweet for your own good. You should have kicked me out instead of letting me in your room. You shouldn’t have –” kissed me, he doesn’t say. “Been nice to me after I was a jerk. I shouldn’t have been a jerk. I never even noticed how much I liked having you around until I left.”
“You liked having me around?” Deku asks, expression going soft. Katsuki rubs his sweaty hands on his jeans. Slowly, Deku scoots forward in his chair until their knees almost touch. “Is that why you started talking to me again, Kacchan? I wondered if maybe you were just bored but I thought – I’d hoped maybe you finally wanted to be friends.”
Katsuki’s chest clenches. “I did. I do.”
(Katsuki moves to Tokyo after middle school. Izuku, against all odds, ends up going with him.)

Summary
“I have something for you, once you finish eating,” Katsuki says.
Deku perks up with poorly hidden curiosity. “Oh?”
His hair is still damp, dripping onto his grey shirt with a simple Sidekick emblazoned on the front. He’s wearing one of Katsuki’s sweatpants and a pair of fuzzy socks stuffed into slippers, looking so comfortable and at home that Katsuki has the sudden urge to tackle him into the wall or squeeze his face and kiss him until he passes out. Normal urges when dealing with Deku, of course.
Instead, Katsuki throws one of his chopsticks at him, nailing Deku perfectly on the forehead.
“Yeah,” Katsuki says, ignoring Deku’s squawk.

Deku doesn't give himself nice things often enough for Katsuki's taste. So, he'll fix that, starting with one iconic Lego set in familiar reds, blues, and yellows at a time.

“That’s what worries me,” Izuku huffed, but he still pulled out his phone to snag a quick picture, silently shaking with laughter when all he could see was tufts of blond and combat boots poking out.
“If you post that in the groupchat you’re fucking dead,” Katsuki growled.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Izuku said, posting it in the groupchat.
