Summary
A clearing in the woods, a grey-black horse and its rider, already sliding off the saddle as Torch streaked across the open ground and Clancy, motherfucking Clancy, his Clancy, running, eyes glinting in the failing light-
The collision hurt.
A full body slam, no accounting for their strength, either of them. No slowing down, no addressing rationalism, no exhibiting self control. Something far-off in the woods howled into the night, and Clancy and the torchbearer lay in a heap on the uneven ground, tufts of grass and rocks digging into Torch's back as Clancy heaved into his neck. His wet gasps were everything to Torch, proof that Clancy was alive, and Torch was still trying to make his windless lungs cooperate enough to breathe right without moving at all, without ceding the vice-grip he had on Clancy's shirt even an inch. Wrapped close as they panted- chest to chest to hips to hips to fucking toes, their boots knocking, kicking dust up, Clancy's knees digging into the dirt like it would move for him, would turn soft and cradle them and never let them go.
or,
The final cycle in all of its devotion, from the moment Clancy wakes up again, through the end, and after.

Summary
Josh was staring at him, just a few inches from his face, and Tyler stared back, mesmerized as the water drops caught on Josh’s eyelashes, dragged his curls down flat onto his forehead. He reached up and pushed them back, cradling Josh’s head. He was so, so beautiful. Even as the ink on Tyler’s hands started to run under the water and drip, weaving between the freckles on Josh’s shoulders and down between his pecs. Josh looked down and huffed out a low laugh through his nose. It was crazy, how seeing the person he adored so much react with levity to something that made him want to die could tilt the entire world, make it lighter. He smiled, small, and dragged his hand down Josh’s chest, watching the trail of watery grey-black he left. Josh shifted forward, speaking directly into his ear over the rush of the water.
“Let’s get you cleaned up, yeah?”

Summary
“What the fuck are you doing?” Josh hissed.
He had stepped forward without noticing, shot his hand out and gripped Tyler's wrist before the fork could make contact. His heart thrummed, every instinct telling him to snatch the thing away before it could hurt Tyler, before he could hurt himself. He was very awake, now.
Tyler was smiling, huge and moon-like through the night. Josh focused in on his crooked white teeth, glanced up to see a spark in his eyes.
“I,” said Tyler slowly, moving the hand holding the near-molten fork away from his stomach, “am staying awake.” He raised his dumb eyebrows at Josh, jutted out his stupid chin. “Would you like to join me?”
Josh blinked at him, felt something flip in his stomach. He swallowed.
“Let me do it.”

Summary
Nova's thick winter feathers were worn and damaged from the heavy snows of the preceding months, a deep gray with a slight iridescence that made her nearly invisible amongst the white. But the world was growing green again, and her with it.
Torch awoke one morning to her beak-like snout less than an inch from her nose, Nova warbling and clicking in her melodic way and nudging him in the cheek.

Summary
“The first time we hooked up,” Shane starts, “you pretended you were going to leave after I made you come.” Ilya’s hand stills, still tangled in Shane’s hair, much longer now than it had been back then. Shane presses on quickly, not wanting to give Ilya any time to misinterpret where this is going. “You said you would never leave me like that.” The sentence sticks in Shane’s throat, making his mouth gummy and dry the same way as being double shifted during a game they can’t afford to lose. Shane can’t afford to lose this, either. Somewhere against his scalp he feels the faintest hum, a bid to keep going. “What if…” he has to swallow again, thickly, “what if I wanted you to?”
After a devastating loss in the Stanley Cup playoffs, where the Centaurs got so close they could almost taste the victory before the ice cracked underneath their feet, Shane needs help getting out of his own head. Ilya is happy to help.

Summary
Shane’s ex-girlfriends keep coming out as queer. He’s trying to be supportive, he really is, okay? Listen, he’s an ally! But it’s sort of becoming a problem. For pretty obvious reasons, because people are definitely starting to notice—Ilya most of all.
(AKA, I give Shane the most absurd queer community and convoluted coming-of-age journey of all time and it still somehow gradually makes things better in the long run.)

Summary
The Boston Raiders disappear from the afterparty one at a time. Rozanov never made it in the first place.
...
Ilya goes into rut at a charity scrimmage, and Shane has to figure out how to get him somewhere with a bed and plenty of extra sheets without drawing too many eyes. Even Shane himself tries to scrutinize the situation as little as possible, watching it in shadows and mirrors like Ilya's going to turn him to stone if Shane confronts the very real and very precarious position he's gotten himself into.

Summary
Media: Here is the goodest most normal boy.
Me: Oh so he’s a lil fucked up, got it. Here he is developing a bruise kink on top of everything else going on.Something’s different, just in general. Like wearing sunglasses, a filter of sorts over everything, but if Shane was in any way honest with himself, he’d know it was more like going without for the first time.
He’s painfully aware of his body these days; how it looks, how it moves, how it responds to… stimuli. And it is responding, lately. His bruises, too: always just there, so used to them they’d barely registered anymore, but recently there’s been a sort of constant hum of them at the edge of his awareness. It’s a layer of input he really doesn’t need right now, busy as he is.
But he’s been woken up. Restless. Needy.
Late in bed, when all his chores are done, fingers travel up to his collarbone, where the newest acquisition is waiting for him.
