Summary
Asami lets out a deep breath when she realizes what’s missing. If she was being honest with herself, she always knew what was missing and was just trying to compartmentalize it to enjoy their getaway. But now that the thoughts have invaded the forefront of her mind, she can’t continue to hold back.
Asami gives Korra a tight smile, releases her hand, and turns away before Korra can see how much she’s hurting.
Her parents were supposed to be here when she fell in love.

He turns around, frowning when he sees her. “Oh. Robin.”
“What the hell is your problem?”
Jonathan furrows his brow. “With… Steve?”
“No,” Robin snaps. “With Nancy.”
Less than two months after they graduate, Robin punches Jonathan in the face.

Nancy’s brows bounced in slight amusement.
“You keep running away from me,” Robin said, softer now.
Nancy paused at that. “That’s why you locked me in here? So I couldn’t run?”
“Whoa, okay—don’t say it like that. Makes it sound… predatory.” Robin scratched the back of her neck, her eyes flicking toward the padlock. “You can leave if you want. Just to be clear.”
