Summary
Sephiroth regains his humanity and falls, once again, into being Cloud’s problem.

Alhaitham froze mid-step, the branches slipping from his hands and tumbling away from the pile he had been aiming for. For some inexplicable reason, the air felt suddenly warmer—and his pants uncomfortably tighter.

He turned toward Kaveh, his thoughts still caught on that peculiar choice of words—only to find him crouched beside the dog, scratching it between the ears as he retrieved a small piece of wood out of its mouth and added it to their growing pile.

Dottore snickers. “Only on purpose, then?”
Pantalone indulges him with a knowing smile. “You, of all people, should appreciate the beauty of precise knifework.” His thumb smooths over Dottore’s pulse before he cups his hand and feels the ripple of a swallow against his palm. “Be good for me, and I’ll make it good for you too.”
Dottore has returned from Nod-Krai. Pantalone claims his prize. This is the fervour of long-distance romance.
