The setting was perfect for Ron’s plan. He was feeling excited and a little bit on edge for the weeks of careful planning. The day had been carefully chosen, and everything else had been planned and set up properly. This was the D day (the “D” for “day-of-making-Draco-Malfoy-come-out-of-his-shell-and-snog-him-senseless” which was obviously too long, therefore, D day. Or night. That also worked). It sounded easier than it really was.
Ron was done with the careful and measured approach. He had been trying to approach the blonde innocently, treating him as if he were fine china that could break if he talked to him too straightforwardly. Ron knew better than that. Draco Malfoy was not a scaredy cat. He was a caged tiger. Powerful and mighty. And Ron wanted to own all of it. To unravel him. Untangle all of the ropes he had choked his true self with. And enjoy basking in all its sheer force once the waves come crashing.
But first, he would have to catch him.Or Ron chasing a scared Malfoy all over the place, even though they are both crazy for each other.

Ron just graduated Hogwarts and is in desperate need of a job, so he takes the one offered to him despite the fact he never applied for it. Sure he has worries about working for the terrifying Minister but he's positive it'll be fine.
By the time Ron realizes it's not fine at all, he finds there is no escape from the lustful clutches of Tom Riddle.

Ron had some kind of prophetic visions and they looped every night. Extending, showing more details, new things. He dreamed of running with someone dear, someone he loved from Death Eaters. He never glimpsed the other person's face, until one night the vision showed him the pallid visage of Draco Malfoy shortly before they were killed.
