Summary
The following post season four story was, like many others, inspired by discussions on the Killing Eve Subreddit as well as the ending of the original novel. We belong to the fraction that believes that Villanelle's death was carefully staged to get her and Eve out and open up a new life for them, as described in our shorter story "It Had To Be Real". Villanelle conspires with Carolyn and Yusuf (of all people) to pull off this feat. Eve is left behind devastated. Everything else would be spoilers. Enjoy!

Summary
Villanelle got shot in the back with an arrow with Eve watching it. (Yeah -- we get the Cupid blahblah). It almost tears Eve apart. She finally gets it, finally understands what she feels for Villanelle. After Pam had patched up Villanelle's wound and Konstantin gave them his antibiotics Eve patiently watches over the injured, comatose Villanelle. Villanelle finally wakes up. It's the familiar scene where she mentions that Eve had her arrested, Eve stating she thought it would be good for her, Villanelle asking "And? Was it?"
Now that's where our story begins, because this time Villanelle is not letting Eve off the hook. She demands an honest answer. And wow: enter the new age of talking Eve! ;-)

"Your form has been improving remarkably quickly, Anakin," Obi-Wan said on the sparring platform one afternoon, as he wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead with his sleeve. "Don't tell me you've actually been listening to the healer for once and doing your physical therapy."
In his adrenaline-addled mind, it took Anakin a moment to sort out what his master was talking about, but eventually his gaze drifted down to his lightsaber, or, more accurately, to the mechno-hand that held it.
"Um," he said. "Something like that."
