Summary
It’s not that he had never been gentle with Jongseong— it’s just that the gentleness between them didn’t come as easily as the gentleness Heeseung was capable of reciprocating to the others.
Tenderness didn’t come easy when they have known each other for so long— when they’ve met when Heeseung hasn’t yet mastered wearing apathy like armor. When they’ve met when Heeseung was the worst combination of earnest, ambitious, and hungry. When Jongseong had been more of a mirror than a friend.
But like this. With Jongseong’s eyes half closed. With his shirt stretched far into his right shoulder, showing off his birthmark, his neck, his collarbones. With Jongseong finding him in his sleep once again— meek, pliant, and expectant.
With Jongseong in the softest version of himself, Heeseung finds it easier than it has ever been— to place a hand on the small of his back, the worst combination of a bit gentle and a bit possessive. He pushes ever so slightly, “let's get you back to bed, sweetheart?”
Jay turned his head so fast, Heeseung was sure it hurt, “what?”
(or the three times Heeseung witnessed Jay sleepwalking and the one time he was very much awake)

Summary
“You’ve imprinted on him,” Sunghoon tells him solemnly.
Jay immediately glares at him, lips pouting and arm crossing in front of his chest in a characteristic display of defense. “What am I? Some fucking animal?”
Sunghoon ignores the lasers shooting out of his eyes. He simply sits down on the chair across from his childhood best friend, saying, “it’s understandable, Jongseong-ah,” in the most patronizing tone. “Lee Heeseung’s an older unbelievably hot frat boy who actually has morals and a personality. I would like to jump that too— if I didn’t respect your claim on him.”
“I did not claim him,” Jay closes his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose, studying completely forgotten, “this isn’t an omegaverse au.”
“But,” Sunghoon leans closer, elbows now resting on the table. He adjusts his lensless specs like a doctor who’s about to diagnose him of a terminal illness, “you wish it was, don’t you? You wish he was your alpha in that gay little omega heart of yo—“
He doesn’t get to finish his sentence as Jay throws a three-hundred-page textbook at him.

Summary
“I was saying that it’s a universal fact that we were all at least a little in love with Heeseung hyung at some point.”
Jay chokes on his food in cinematic timing. Niki unhelpfully slaps at his back.
His gaze shifted to Heeseung who was still looking at him with an unreadable gaze. There was interest there and something else Jay couldn’t quite put a name to.
Maybe that’s why he clears his throat and casually says “sure,” looking down at his food and shrugging like this wasn’t causing his hair to prematurely grey.
It wasn’t a lie per se, but it wasn’t the whole truth either.
The whole truth was that Jay was completely, irrevocably, and horrendously in love with Heeseung still.
