Summary
In the wake of Peter Parker erasing himself from the memories of his friends and family, not to mention the entire universe, he's doing as well as can be expected. Three years later, he's attending ESU, trying to work three jobs alongside getting two degrees, and still going out as Spider-Man. He's fine, really. Everything is just fine. That is until a run-in with the law and a DNA test shatter the carefully constructed facade that Peter had made his life.

“Your blood matches a sample the FBI has on file from a kidnapping case.” Agent Carisi opens the thicker file. “A four-year-old boy taken while on vacation with his father about twenty years ago.”
Peter’s breathing speeds up.
“Authorities took fingerprint and DNA samples from the boy’s room, and at the father’s behest, we continue to test them against any that are placed within any system we have access to.”
A piece of paper with lab results lays atop the file. It gets picked up and placed on the table.

“It’s going to be fine,” Jack promises him, as if he can promise him that. “Flu’s not taking you down, is it?”
“Guess it’s your job to make sure it doesn’t,” Robby replies. Despite the verbal blows Jack just aimed right into his ribs, he still feels bad for the way Jack’s face drains of color once he’s said it. “Jack—”
“Go lay down before it starts,” Jack instructs him, and Robby recognizes Dr. Abbot taking over in more ways than one. “I’ll come check on you in an hour, alright?”
For one more heartbeat, Jack doesn’t move. Again, Robby feels the pang down the center of his chest into his stomach that simultaneously tells him to kiss him and reminds him that he can’t.

“What do you want me to say? That I’ve been working at Miramar for a month and I have no idea what I’m doing? That I miss China Lake? Even if Bradley, and you, don’t you fucking lie, hated it there? I'm not some house-bound omega, Ice, but guess who just got three different invitations to Sunday brunch from a group of admiral’s omegas? Three! These omegas who probably do nothing but gossip and suck cock all day. They call me "Pete Kazansky" in their letters. I’m surprised they haven’t changed the damn paint on my jet, already. Actually, I hope they have, ‘cause I’m more than ready to knock some fucking teeth out.”
Ice truly cannot decide what to pick out first. A minefield anywhere he’d choose. Many of them, are justified. Still, he settles on his own frustration. “So, clearly nothing’s wrong then,” he says flatly.
Maverick’s lips curl back from his teeth. “Fuck you.”
(Or Ice comes home with a new star on his shoulder, to a new house, and to a tense and tired mate.)

"The F18 soared across the open water, a few thousand feet above the hard deck. Buck pushed the plane past Mach 1 and was rounding on Mach 1.5, enjoying the roar of the engine and the steady vibration of the plane under him. He loved the feeling of flying; the strange part of him felt grounded the higher he went, more connected to himself the more altitude he gained.
The F18 responded beautifully to his every touch, going faster or slower with barely more effort than a thought.
Buck had brought an old polaroid with him in the plane, the one his dad had given him when he went off to basic flight training. He’d taken a few pictures during his time in the Navy, mostly of Bradley or the sky. He loved being able to send polaroids home to his dads."
