It was pretty clear why he had not been there.

When a UA student goes missing, GEMGD Agency gets assigned to his rescue, with Katsuki leading the operation and Izuku appointed as faculty expert. Now forced to work together, the feelings Katsuki thought he had buried resurface in the most unhealthy way possible.
"Are you sleeping with him?"
"So I'm sleeping with him, Mina. Why the fuck do you care?"

Mitsuki exhaled, pushing her chair back and standing. The papers in her hand fluttered slightly as she paced the length of her office, heels clicking against the floor. “You’re a beta,” she said, scanning his file. “Good grades. Good university. Excellent references from previous employers.” Her tone was even. “But there are hundreds like you, Midoriya. Hundreds of betas who would kill to have their name on this file. So I’ll ask again: what makes you stand out?”

Katsuki Bakugo wakes up missing three years.
He remembers the war. He remembers being a hero. He remembers Deku.

Midoriya knew life wasn't fair.
It hadn't been fair when he was eighteen, and it wasn't fair now that he was twenty-one, still an unmarked omega that's never been picked in the yearly tradition of a Mating Run.
Omegas all around participated, and yet, Midoriya was never chosen. Now was just another year, another year of participating in the stupid event, just to be left with no mate yet again. Midoriya was getting older, and he's sure no one was going to pick him.
"One", was probably where he messed up...considering he now had an entire PACK of alphas after his heart.
But...he's a little oblivious to see those signs.
