Auradon sees Cruella de Vil as an evil psychopath. They're right, but Carlos sees more than that. He sees someone sick. He sees his mother. Carlos has spent every moment he can remember caring for his mother in one way or another. Whether it be lying to the doctors that come, soothing the screaming, or fighting the blades out of her hands. Carlos goes to Auradon, and he's not able to protect her in the same way, but he's still able to protect her name. When someone insults Cruella to his face, Carlos snaps, and now he's ready to show Auradon how 'mad' a de Vil can be.
