Summary
Six months after Patrick Jane walks away from the CBI, Teresa Lisbon gets the call she has been trying not to expect.
Jane is in Las Vegas. Arrested. Hurt. Refusing help.
Lisbon tells herself she is only going because someone has to make sure he is alive.
But Jane’s collapse is not as simple as it looks, and when Lisbon reaches him, the distance between them finally starts to crack.
A canon-divergent Season 4 finale rewrite about grief, loyalty, Red John’s shadow, and the terrifying danger of loving someone you cannot bear to lose.

Summary
Lisbon looks Jane over worriedly, noting his pale face. "I think it's time to get that cough checked out, Jane. You've had it for 2 weeks, and it's getting worse."
Jane smiles at her worry, "Nonsense, Jane's don't get sick."
Lisbon just shakes her head at his stubbornness. "Really? Because it sounds like this Jane might have a cold." She playfully pokes him in his chest.
(Ow.)
He covers his pain, raising his teacup. "Nothing a cup of tea can't fix."
In hindsight, he should have told her how he was feeling right there. But, what is it they say about hindsight? It’s a bitch.

Summary
There was a new one.
Grace felt him before she saw him—sensed his eager, flickering energy as he stepped onto her grounds. He was more excited about being there than anyone had a right to be. But he was nervous too, and that was more justified. She felt his energy curdle when her—when Jefferson cornered him. He wasn't happy to see this new face here, either.
And wasn't that interesting.
Jud makes an unlikely friend.
