Summary
Uika was very boring.
“Does the weekend work for you?” Nyamu asked in a sweet tone that she knew Uika wasn’t fond of, “Saturday, show up with your pretty face. And I’ll show you a whole new world.”
Uika nodded, but her face was full of gaps of confusion and anticipation.“Now, don’t make a face like that,” Nyamu insisted on her sweetened voice, holding Uika’s chin between her thumb and forefinger, “It’s going to be great.”
Uika's eyes flitted between Nyamu’s eyes and lips as if she was deeply troubled by the concept of attention.
Nyamu knew approval when she saw it; she closed the gap between their lips slowly, then kissed Uika sweetly. Uika breathed in shakily, and her shoulders eased down as she made a decent effort to kiss back. Nyamu smiled into their innocent kiss, then drew back.
....
With a sigh, Nyamu made the first move to stand and retreat back inside the building, “I’ll go ahead then,” not expecting a reply for her sweet troubles.
And though Uika could embody the concept of boredom itself, Nyamu was very much looking forward to Saturday.

Summary
Umiri knew people didn’t understand her, but she had always understood herself.
Umiri read up on it once the more socially aware Nyamu brought it up to her attention –Alexithymia. The struggle to assign emotions in social situations, a barrage of responses that flooded into her mind but unable to redirect to the outside without a clear understanding of the social cues.
Her flat affect was an additional deal, and Umiri couldn’t ever understand what the big deal was. She always meant what she said, by the letter. There was no need for a deep dive into her tone to pluck out hidden intentions.

Summary
It was raining when both Uika and Umiri stood by their lockers, eyeing the courtyard. Uika had completely neglected checking the weather report, and Umiri– well, Taki forgot her umbrella and mistook Umiri’s for her own and took off with it. The only reason they were stranded was because Taki had stormed out with a daydreaming Raana in tow, both huddled under Umiri’s umbrella.
Uika winced at Umiri’s eerie silence, and the bassist’s eyes landed on her for a heavy moment like she was calculating the risks of staying back with Uika. Uika would be filled with dread too, if she were to be stuck with herself.
Regardless, Uika could only fidget under the stare to wave off the discomfort, “Waiting is all we can do, I suppose…”
“Right. I wish I could quip with a joke, but I’m running short,” Umiri said with her usual deadpan.
Uika has a conversation with Umiri and realizes she's more than her depravity.
