    Summary

Seungcheol stares at him some more. “There… there was a portal in my room. I landed here and… uh. I smacked the shit out of my head on your side table.”

    “A… portal?”

Seungcheol nods, and he’s still holding Jihoon’s face in tight hands, like he might slip away any second. Jihoon can’t let go either, anchored to a time he lost. He wipes some of the dried blood from Seungcheol’s forehead with a harsh thumb to look at the cut. It’s thin and scabbing over already, which is a relief, at least.

He can’t see Seungcheol die twice. He really wouldn’t be able to survive it a second time.

OR: Many years ago, Jihoon agreed to one date, and then another, and then many others. Now, with his husband six feet under, he thinks of another Jihoon agreeing to the same thing.

OR, REDUX: What is grief if not love persevering?

    Summary

Sure, the house has been unoccupied for decades, perhaps even longer, it’s going to need a lot of work before it’s rendered completely habitable, but the auction price was so shockingly low, Jihoon didn’t hesitate to place an offer there and then.

Who in their right mind would miss out on a chance to live here?

    Summary

Grumbling something about shameless liars, Jihoon tries (unsuccessfully) to tuck his hair behind his pink ears, like he had done since age seven, when his mother finally stopped shaving his head all the time.

    Seungcheol watches him do it.
    And thinks, suddenly—
I could spend the rest of my life with him.

    -
Seungcheol and Jihoon are paddy farmers in a small town. That's not the important part.

Choi Seungcheol catches a monster-sized catfish, fixes a broken car, and tries to figure out how to tell his childhood friend that he's loved him for the past twenty seven years.

    Summary

Jihoon cleared his throat. With his eyes firmly fixed to his fingers on the keys, he said, “Tell them not to book me a room at a companion service.”

Seungcheol blinked out of his social media haze. “Because you found an alpha? That’s great.”

“Maybe.” Jihoon began examining his nails with all the obsessive attention of a student cramming for a test.

    “Maybe?”

He picked at one of his cuticles. “Depends on if you say yes.”

Too sensitive both physically and emotionally to bear the new company guidelines regarding heat leave, Jihoon turned to the gentlest alpha he knew.

    Summary

Jihoon meets Seungcheol’s eye in the mirror and smiles. Seungcheol forces herself to smile back and hopes Jihoon doesn’t think she’s a pervert. It’s true, but Jihoon is delicate and Seungcheol doesn’t want to ruin her.

“This one looks good on you,” Seungcheol says. She adjusts where the strap is laying on Jihoon’s shoulder, trying to act casual. “You should get it.”
