Summary
“Good evening, your Grace,” he said, his voice steady and knowing, “You sent for me.”
The mask tilted up to look at him. There was a moment where they just stared, like somehow they hadn’t expected him to actually be there.
“I did,” they said, almost too quietly, “Please, be at ease. Sit,”
He chuckled just a little, low and dark,
“Is that an order?”
He had to imagine they smiled, because he heard it in their voice.
“Call it an invitation”

Summary
The rolling treetops of the forest spread their arms in gentle morning stretches. The sky was still rosy with waking, each blink bringing more and more light to the vista below. Below there were carts drawing closer to the outer gates, bringing food, firewood, servants and bewildered peasants from nearby villages who had heard the news in the night. Somewhere, a dog barked as it chased a cart clattering into the outer courtyard. All of this, they realised, was to be theirs now.

Summary
The crowd was a kaleidoscope. Glinting metals from stationed guards blurred together with sumptuous purple silk gowns. Sometimes, with perfect clarity, they could see the glinting teeth of a false smile. A tremor started in their left wrist and they tried not to pay attention to how their hand shook as they folded it under their robe. Their downturned eyes caused them to miss the moment that Gwendan emerged from the crowd, his own hands trembling in perfect mirror. What they heard instead was Ursula’s sharp inhale, Arlin tripping over his words, and the all-too familiar clank of a man in heavy armour falling to his knees in supplication.
“It is a pleasure,” Gwendan said, his voice gravely with disuse, “to see you again, your Grace.”

Summary
The Sovereign, clearly, was going to say something. The air trembled with the anticipation of it, but the weight of it stuck in their throat. Gwendan couldn’t stand it. They had ordered him into battle after battle, duels to the death, fights with demons, but whatever this was had proved beyond their speech?
“Well? Out with it!” he insisted. He watched the insult to their station hit into their sternum and ripple through them. He waited for the chastisement. Instead, he watched their shoulders rise with breath, then fall again. They took another step closer.
“Gwendan,” they said, “Tell me about your debt with Brimwood.”

Kattigan and Teor - how they started (with booze), how they changed (one winter night), how they ended (with Marienna)
(Except… not. Not really. Because the kind of thing they had never truly ends, the feelings never fade away completely. For better or for worse.)

La Fouldre, L’Amoureux, L’Empereur (A fairytale) by Anonymous

Summary
“Most of all, my lord, do not partake in any food inside the Tower, for it will bind you to it,” said Merlin. “For consuming anything of the Tower will make you part of it.”
—
Arthur Pendragon, severely underestimating the soft (kind) Sovereign of Brizh, gets kidnapped and held prisoner at the mysterious White Tower of Brizh after declaring Angelor Empire’s intent for war. While Merlin and Angelor negotiate for the Emperor’s release, the Emperor himself is lulled in by the magic of the White Tower, and of its mysterious Sovereign with his impassive white mask and kind eyes, and falls. And falls. And falls.
A strange Persephone-and-Hades fairytale of sorts, where pomegranate seeds are more of a metaphor than anything else, the Tower is the Underworld, and you are never sure who is the prisoner and who is the gatekeeper.

Summary
Occtis was simply floating through life, working at a local bookshop with his best friend during the day and taking recreational art classes at the local college at night. Everything was perfectly uncomplicated. Unfortunately, a model for one of his classes managed to work his way under Occtis' skin and make life a little more interesting.
---
A non-magical modern AU where Occtis is an artist and Julien is himself. Many canon events have not taken place in this AU (for obvious reasons), which has caused a little shift in some characterization.

Summary
“Herod had his own Dragon Knight, have you forgotten?” Ermen was starting to get annoyed by Gaermund’s insistence on questioning his decisions. “In fact, he was the one who gave Dagon the Red his kingdom, which resulted in him establishing Drakovic. Brizh and Drakovic remained close allies after that.”
“I know those old tales well enough.”-
When a golden opportunity presents itself and the Heir of Drakovic offers his services, Ermen readily accepts it, not even considering the possibility that the young man could become his biggest weakness.

Summary
THELYSS: I think I could have floated beside him in stasis forever, ignoring the obvious. Once he offered the precise object of my desire, which I had been concealing from even myself, I panicked.
INTERVIEWER: And what did you say to him?
THELYSS: We fought about it. We had to. In the Nein, it is prerequisite for doing anything.
WIDOGAST: In the end, it was about fear, as it always is.
— The Mighty Nein's rocket to fame involves more drama, mystery, abuse, sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll than any columnist can resist, but media accounts until now have been mostly secondhand. Tabloids and vultures run with the facts in the opposite direction, smearing half-truths and outrageous accusations onto any blank space, taking silence for admission.
It definitely doesn’t help that Thelyss admitted to stealing the Mouthpiece of the Luxon on national telellusion.
The following timeline contextualizes Widogast and Thelyss’s individual music careers, their collaborations, and the events surrounding a) the crimes of Volstrucker Records CEO Trent Ikithon, and b) Ikithon and Martinet Ludinus Da’leth’s undiscussed roles in the Mouthpiece of the Luxon Scandal.
