Summary
Alex wants to sit close enough to touch, close enough to feel Henry’s warm skin next to him and absorb his effervescent light from the place where their bodies are connected.
But in the rush of the moment, Alex panics at the thought of admitting those thoughts aloud, regardless of how true they may be.
“Uh, no?” Alex swallows, gaze flicking to Henry’s and then back to Nora, who tilts her head at him. “Why do you ask?”
“Because you two are more attached at the hip than the conjoined twins that were on the fucking news last week?”
Henry snorts, running a hand over his face and trying to cover up the sound with a cough. His cheeks are flushed the prettiest shade of pink, his shoulders slightly tensed as he crosses his arms over his chest.
Alex wonders if Henry has the wrong idea, if he knows that Alex would slide himself into Henry’s fucking lap and curl into those strong arms for the entire dinner if he thought he had permission.
But he doesn’t.

Liam scoffs. "More like 'if' we land in NYC at this rate."
A tense silence follows before Henry responds, his voice a mix of disbelief and amusement. "Are you seriously asking me on a date while you're battling severe turbulence at 6000 meters in the air?"
Alex smirks. “It’s 20000 feet, sweetheart, and now is as good a time as any, right?”

So he has some issues with attention, which makes going out in public with Richie, who is a bit of a celebrity, even more challenging. He knows that nobody is really overanalyzing them, but he can’t help but feel unworthy next to him and like the whole world has their eyes on them. Richie Tozier’s boyfriend in the wheelchair, said no tabloid ever, but Eddie wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what ran through their minds when they see them.
But, suddenly, Eddie doesn’t care that they are in the presence of other people. He doesn’t know if it’s the sun or the alcohol or just the fact that he, for once, doesn’t feel the overwhelming need to cower into a corner at the thought of being seen by anyone other than Richie, but Eddie suddenly wants Richie to kiss him.
